Ishamael basically confirm this in tEotW

 

I think the Seanchan version is indeed the corrupted version, but could you give me the quote? I can't remember me anything of the Seanchan in TEotW. Not that it's the one I know best...

In TEotW 14, Rand encounters Ishamael (as Ba'alzamon) in a dream. Ishyzamon says:

 

"I whispered in Artur Hawkwing's ear.. and the High King sent his armies across the Aryth Ocean, across the World Sea, and sealed two dooms. The doom of his dream of one land and one people, and a doom yet to come."

 

This suggests that Ishy has heavily influenced the Seanchan nation, probably including their record of the Karaethon Prophecies, taken there by Luthair Paendrag Mondwin, Hawkwing's son (TPoD24).

Mat needs to go to the Tower to retrieve the HoV. I'm betting that this will coincide with the Seanchan attack.
