Introducing Myself

Hi everybody!

I just wanted to say that I'm new to the DM community and that I'm rather a TWOT-beginner in general.

However, I hope to find out and learn some more about this great piece of work and fantasy and its characters and events, to meet some like-minded people, and to simply have some fun. :)

Hi Ny! :)

Happy, you're here!

CU! ;)

Thanks for welcoming me. :)

That's about right, Elgee. I haven't read the whole series yet. I hope that's not that big a problem...

Okay. Thanks for the advice. I'll be careful and read as fast as I can to be able to enjoy the community completely.

I've just noticed you're from Germany! And so is Aiofe ... do you two know each other?

There are a few other German members over at the White Tower. I love the fact that there are so many people from all over the world here.

So up to which book have you read? And what are your favourite characters or groups of characters so far?

do not fear spoilers! unless you know, you do. but it's ok not to. it's just perfectly fine to know a bit of what's going to happen before you read it, unless it bothers you personally. i mainly read old books, so spoilers don't bother me a bit.

um, oh, sorry, forgot - welcome

Well, as a matter of fact, Aoife and I really do know each other. We went to school together and share a similar taste in books.

She kind of introduced me to the WOT-books, but I'm two books ahead of her already. That makes book 4 - The Shadow Rising.

So far I really like the Tuatha'an and their philosophy of life. Do the wolves count, too? For I love them since I love wolves in general... ^^

Of the main characters I like Moiraine, Lan, Rand, and Egwene best, though Egwene and Rand tend to tick me off sometimes.

Nevertheless, the books, the story and the characters have just been awesome up to now!

*Gives Aoife special cookies*

If you like the Wolves so much, you should head on over to the Wolfkin on here - either the Social Group or the RP Group. The RP side also have a section for Tinkers - they fall under the Freelanders Group.

Of course, there's the White Tower too ...

Thanks for the info, Elgee.

No, I have neither watched 'Taare Zameen Par' nor '3 Idiots', yet, but they both sound extremely interesting.

Well, I've watched 'My Name is Khan' and thought it rather great. I never thought about this topic before (Muslims in America after 9/11). I also really like 'Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham', 'Jodhaa Akbar', 'Swades', 'Chak De! India ' (though this isn't really Bollywood anymore, now is it?) and 'Paheli'. What are your favourites anyway?

Chak de India is a great one. You should watch Taare Zameen par. It is a great film on deslexia. It is impossible to watch it without shedding tears. There is a new one Zindagi na milegi dobara, my friends are saying it is a good one.
