Just thought I'd introduce myself. I've known about this site for awhile, but I avoided even looking at it like it was a myrddraal!

Every time I accidentally clicked on a link to DM, I quickly looked away & hit the back button, convinced I'd glimpse a spoiler from a book I hadn't read yet!

Now that I've finally finished all the books, I figured that at last it was safe to lay my eyes on this place.

Little did I know, had I ever looked at it for more than a fraction of a second, how well you guys manage this place & warn about spoilers. I could have been here nearly a year ago! Oh well, whats done is done.

Anyway I'm looking forward to a lot of interesting discussions (I'm currently reading through the "Where is Demandred" thread & will put my own 2 cents in if I get to the end & no one else has voiced my theory). I've always wanted to talk to others about the books but I've never been able to convince anyone else to read them (except for my mother, but I rarely see her & she isn't as into them as I am). It will be very nice to finally be able to discuss the series with others who enjoy it as much as me.

Well that's my story, hope to see you all on the boards!

Interesting handle you have there ... how did you end up picking that?

Welcome aboard, anyway

Have a look around the site - there's much more to do on here than just discuss theories. There's the Social Side and the RP side too.

Thanks for the welcome, Elgee!

My handle has nothing to do with WoT or this board, over the years I have been & am a member of so many forums I couldn't possibly name them all & I always use that name, face & sig so any of my friends from other forums will know it's me & say hi. I believe I originally picked it years ago after watching a movie where a guy made a super computer virus he intended to unleash on the world & named it contempt.

I expect I'll eventually get into the Social & RP parts, but right now I'm too wrapped up in reading about everyone's takes on different parts of the books. It's amazing how much I missed, especially how glaringly obvious they were in hindsight! After I get through that I'll definitely have to reread all the books. I do promise I'll check out those other two parts, I'm pretty sure I know what the RP will be like, but at the moment I have no idea what you mean by Social Side. I'm sure I'll figure it out though. Again thanks for the welcome!

Welcome to Dragonmount.com, contempt

You have found what I believe is the very best fan forum and message board for a fictional series of books. Stick around here long enough, and I can promise you that not only will you meet cool and interesting people online, but also that you will become friends with some whom you regularly interact.

We have many different forums and sub-forums where you can discuss practically anything that you want; including discussions that are not WOT based, on just about anything else in this world that you might want to discuss. I encourage you to browse the forums, read and also participate in the countless discussions that are ongoing. Also, some of the places where WOT fans can have the most fun are in the various Social Groups here, based upon different groups written by Robert Jordan in the Wheel of Time. These Social Groups include, but are not limited by; the Aiel, The White Tower, The Black Tower, the Ogier, and Shayol Ghul.

If you are interested, post what you like best in The Wheel of Time series, and then you can be given suggestions as to which ones of the Social Groups on Dragonmount that you might like. Dragonmount also has roleplay forums for those whom want to immerse themselves in character into the most fascinating fantasy world ever created, the world of Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time.

If you have any questions, please feel free to PM me at any time.

It is never too late to start here. 'Who is Demandred', I think that question could truly be answered in the last book, if it is answered, there are lot of theories.

welcome here.

Yes, I've found it hard to get people into the series as well. The second people hear it's a series that contains more than three books they tend to bolt. The reason I got into it myself is that my friend never bothered telling me how many books there were. By the time I learned about it, I was way too addicted to get scared off *hangs head in shame* :D Despite the difficulties I have managed to get two people into WoT, though... which is a lot in this area, seeing as no one around these parts know this series. Their loss!

I don't venture around the Discussion part myself, but I'm sure you'll find exactly what you're looking for there, seeing as it's filled with WoT savvy peeps with so many different theories and opinions. It really is quite refreshing. And what with the excellent moderating team everything is kept in order and you can really just sit down and enjoy a good discussion.

If you ever feel like mixing it up, though, you should check out the role-palying part of DM, as well as the social groups. It might not be what you came to DM looking for, but it doesn't mean you won't have fun trying them out.

If you have any questions or just want to chat a bit, feel free to shoot me a PM! :)

Oh and I really love your username lol

Cheers,

I joined here to find other people to discuss the WoT with too. That's all I did for a while, but then I ended up venturing over to the Social Group side by chance, and now I run the Black Tower group. :D

Basically, no matter what you are looking for, you can find it on this site. It's awesome.
