I've just started the 3rd book. Even though they're ripoffs of Tolkien, I still enjoy them nonetheless. I have a few questions I need to ask w/o spoilers, but surely if I ask them here, some armchair expert who lives with his mom and stays on this forum 24/7 will begin his rant of rules, appropriate threads, etc... So I'll do some more reading on where to direct my questions.

Actually, this is a great place to direct your questions. Although I highly disagree that WoT is a ripoff of Tolkien, I can answer whatever questions you have to the best of my ability, sans spoilers. Feel free to PM me.

Also, feel free to roam around the boards. Most boards have stickies posted at the top for any rules/guidelines, but if you can see the thread, it is generally okay for you to post there. If not, a mod or admin will let you know and it won't be a big deal. They don't bite.

Signed,

Pardon me, but since half the staff on DM are Reds, yes they do. Bite, that is. Ok so it's accompanied by snuggles, but still.

Skipped that "How to make a good impression and win friends 101" class, didya, Ofshienar?

Mind you, you're almost right about Tolkien. But then, since he was one of the first people to write fantasy, it can be argued that pretty much all other fantasy is a rip-off of his writing. Did you know he was born in Bloemfontein, which is in South Africa, which is where 2 DM staff members come from?

LOL! Thanks Kate, PM inbound. I did look around but sure enough I was seeing spoilers everywhere, just looking where to post things appropriately.

Well, my 1st post

I don't usualy read forums, but since Tarmon Gai'don is near

Welcome!

Yeah you have to be very careful about spoilers, especially on the Discussion forums.

Oh and I do live with my parents, but that's only because I'm a minor ;)

I always wanted an armchair.... *dreamy eyes*

Welcome to DM! ^_^

Oh right. Rules. The most important rule to follow on DM is that you must jump when someone says frog and you most say frog if you see someone jumping (which leads to a chaotic and unstoppable chain of reaction). I'm not quite sure what you're supposed to do if you see an actual frog. I'll get back to you on that.

No, you did not. All I got was a note on my bed with your phone number telling me to call you. >.> But with African phone call rates... as if.
