HBO doing a high school drama? I do not see how this has the same as appeal as the sex-charged catty original.

 

The Los Angeles Times is reporting that New Line’s “Sex and the City” prequel is now a TV series project for sister company HBO.

 

Michael Patrick King, who oversaw HBO's original “City” series and its two big-screen sequels, will have nothing to do with the new project.

 

If it goes forward, the new series will follow the high school years of “Sex and the City’s” main character, Carrie Bradshaw.

 

It would be based on “The Carrie Diaries,” the Connecticut-set prequel novel by “Sex And The City” author Candace Bushnell. Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte do not appear in it.

Oh God.
