Something just kinda occurred to me, might be nothing and it isn't well thought out but anyways here goes.

 

So Rand and Ishy are linked right?

 

Well Rand as LTT has died once and everyone seems to think he's going to die again at Tarmon Gai'don...

 

But Ishy has also died once - and he saved Rand's life for a reason that I at least do not fully understand.

 

Im not sure what i'm truly trying to get at - But maybe the connection between Rand and Ishy is more intimate than we first suspected. Maybe his lives have already been used up...

 

Anyway, thoughts?

Until VoG, there was a chance that Rand could have gone dark. The first few books were filled with requests for Rand to switch sides. I think the DO wanted him alive until it became obvious that he wouldn't change sides.

the VoG only showed that Rand is now able to block out the effects of the taint. Popular idea is that the connection between Rand and Moridin is going to turn him either way in AMoL

Or that Rand is going to turn Moridin to the Light..

Which is, alas, rather more difficult to buy.

I'm not sure about that one myself. But I will be very interested to find out what effect VoG had on him.

Rand and Moridin better have an epic battle though. That's all I gotta say

I dont think rand will battle physically at the end.

On the contrary, I believe there will be a grand battle of epic proportions with the One Power. Remember that Supermand moment in ToM in Saldea with the Trolloc horde? That scene implies an epic battle.
