Blues Brothers

Well, here's something that has “uh oh!” written all over it.

A pilot script for a “Blues Brothers” TV series is being shopped around, one scripted by a strange assortment of writers:

1) early SNL writer (and “Square Pegs” creator) Anne Beatts,

2) actor Wayne Catania (“Queer As Folk”),

3) someone named Kieron Lafferty, and

4) John Belushi’s widow, Judith Belushi-Pisano.

Dan Aykroyd, who wrote and starred in both the wonderful 1980 movie and its disturbingly crappy 1998 sequel, is attached to provide the voice of Jake and Elwood Blues’ parole officer.

The series will follow the boys as they search for Elwood’s biological father. Beatts is reportedly prepared to pitch the project to studios and networks as “Route 66” meets “Glee.”

I really enjoyed the first Blues Brothers movie, but I don't know what to think about the TV show. This is actually the first time I've heard about it.
