The Black Ajah:

 

Focus : Subversion

 

They are the politicians of the Ghul. They work in secret, behind the scenes weaving complicated lies to coerce and win allegiances. The Black Ajah are very rarely direct in their dealings and anything they say or do has a carefully calculated reason behind it. Hence the reason why Lily would rather you take Ed's head and tell her the tale of how you came to acquisition it. If you've ever studied the ways in which Rasputin worked, that would be a good based for the psyche of a dark Sister.

 

 

The Dreadlords

 

Focus: Sophistication and refined evil

 

The only thing to fear more than a Black Sister, is a Dreadlord. Dreadlords do not necessarily have a personal goal in mind such as having leaders in their pockets, like the Black Ajah. They are particularly sadistic and sometimes masochistic. They do not always wish to get blood on their hands, but often do not mind it either. Torture and pain is just as much about mental and emotional turmoil as it is physical pain. They often already have positions of wealth and power. The name says it all, a "Dreadlord" is a Lord whom you should dread.

 

 

The Shadow Spawn

 

Focus: Random Violence and Mayhem

 

You should already be most familiar with the simplest of the Dark Factions. They are the trollocs and myrddraal, the dragkhar and the gholams. Physical violence and bloodshed are what drives these beasts. They are creatures of immediate gratification with little patience and no control, especially once they catch the scent of blood, like the feeding frenzy reflex of sharks.
