This month is getting past me quick!

 

So, what've you been up to?

Ummm lots!

 

Short answer: I had a major work deadline of September 1st (for about 15 projects all related to our big program) that all got completed and I'm very relieved.

 

My son has just joined Cub Scouting, and so we are having a good time with that.

 

Then our SCA event (the one I was running) was this weekend. Short version: Awesomeness! Many people I know and love were given awards by Their Majesties for their service, their skills in the arts and sciences, or their chivalric prowess. We even had a Knighting. Lots of fun! I ran our bardic competition and we had some fantastic entrants as well. :) The tournaments were exciting, feast was tasty, and royal court was enjoyable.

 

Downside: The weather decided to be dramatic. Or, as our dueling court heralds claim, apparently Thor disliked their feuding? (they kid) Very dangerous thunderstorms, tornado warnings, and 70mph straight winds hit the area (the tornados did not hit the campsite). Lots of modern tents were destroyed. Several medieval tents went down (including ours, because someone's little modern pop-up pavilion slammed into it as it tried to fly away), but suffered mostly minimal damage. Though ALLLLL of my stuff is soaking wet and we are still missing my husband's cell phone. Amazingly, nothing else blew away (out of our stuff). There were some odd things like pillows found up in trees when it was done.

And where did you hear 70mph winds?? I heard 110mph but I can't find anywhere to look up that information and verify :P I will continue to work on that.
