I dont like coming to this part of the forum yet, even the topics give things away. Gonna wait til Im done with the series. Im on book 11, half way thru. If you need a reminder as to the time frame, Mats traveling with the Circus. Book hasnt mentioned his staff, although he did buy a Yew Bow staff. And I was wondering. What happened to that staff or spear or whatever it was that he got same time he got the fox medallion? If youre NOT suppose to know as of book 11, dont tell me. I just cant remember why he isnt carrying it.

He had it around. During that time he simply didn't carry it everywhere. Not easy to keep a low profile with a large, and rare weapon like that. Don't worry it shows up more in later books.

So as of the time that hes travelling with Van Luca's Circus, he has the staff/spear thingy put up somewhere NEAR him? Or does he have it put up in another city or something. I mean could he get to it quickly if need be? Just curious.

Most likely it's in his wagon or tent with the rest of his supplies. He's just not flaunting it around the camp, or when he goes into town

He quotes that the hat and the spear is synonymous to his identity in Ebou Dar. He is trying to "hide".

So he also didn't wear his hat?
