Where is the Horn ?

Featured Replies

I like the idea that it's hanging up as a fake somewhere in plain sight. That was actually my first thought when I read the OP. The way this works though is that we know there are fakes everywhere anyway, it would make sense that the WT picked up a few along the way just to make sure someone hadn't actually found the real one...

Why would they withhold it? Not saying they wouldn't, just wondering.

Because they are AS. They would try to make Mat "understand" they are in charge. Like what they think they'll do to Rand at FoM. It's just what they do.

Mat's ta'veren,

If he needs the HoV, he'll get it. Verin would certainly have made arrangements in that respect.

Question is, what?

Egwene wants to stop Rand from putting his (half)plan in motion. If she will keep the Horn, Mat will not be able to help Rand during the LB. At least not as he was meant to do it.

Or she can give him the Horn after he will swear fealty to her(he will not be the first), or agree to stand against Rand's plan, etc.

It would be really funny if Siuan had hidden it in a room that can't be found anymore, after all the "redecoration" that has been going on latelybiggrin.gif

Don't worry.. all Mat has to do is play hide and seek, like he did in the ToG!!

I was having a look at that chapter, and I note that Mat has now lost his depth perception - he had trouble picking up his spear. I wonder, will we see a weave that allows you to hide a 3D object as a 2D picture of itself.. which our one-eyed fool Mat won't be fooled by because of his 'flat vision'?

Doesn't Matter, Siuan is still alive, and always near Egwene. Matt will go all ta'verinish with it, and find it even if it has been misplaced.

Let's hope she didn't decide to hide it within a magic eye picture.

It is entirely possible that Egwene has the Horn with her at the end of ToM, she is about to meet with Rand and everyone to discuss Rands plan for TG, one would assume they'd all move pretty quick to the Last Battle after that meeting so she should have taken the Horn with her...

I lol'ed. I can just see that happening...

Does she know where it is? I don't think Verin told her, or Siuan.

We haven't seen Egewene being told where the Horn is, not that I can recall... But I'd assume she would be told, it'd be a weird thing to forget about so close to the last battle..

It might be one of those things that BS doesn't feel is needed to mention, she may just present it to Mat as a little surprise or something, I haven't seen any mention of Mat's message to Egwene about the Horn either, which is odd when you think about it...

Chances are it has been intentionally left out so there can be a big reveal. That's unfortunate, but I think Suian has passed on a lot of knowledge to Egwene that happened off-camera, so at least the horn isn't the only thing left out.

you can only get it out if your intentions are pure...
I doubt there being any weave/terangreal/etc that could detect such.

Besides pure or not would be a matter of interpretation.

In a mirror? I am not sure of that being possible in this series. A box/closet/etc with a mirror or mirrors might be more accurate.

Both seem part of other fiction.
