The Deplorable Misery of the Influenza Virus.

I have come down with a savage bout of sudden onset flu. My head is aching, my body is tired and I'm suffocating on mucus.

Good times

I hope everyone else is well and healthy! Appreciate it

I am as much of a recluse as I can be with my life, short of becoming a hermit :myrddraal:

And I wash my hands many times a day. Especially after visiting the dissection room

the dead should be unable to transmit influenza, no? there must have been a living contact. one of the humans responsible for transporting and storing the dead perhaps?

i'm especially careful aorund things the humans touch. most people fear the sneezing and coughing, but it's the hands that transmit the microbes that will kill you. i find it best to visualize the miasma of contagion that surrounds each person as a sickly green glow that despoils all with which it comes in contact.

... you could be more of a hermit... but you are young yet. the idea will grow on you when your blood cools some.

*gives Rey some chicken noodle soup, meds and tissues*

That sounds like heaven!

*Gives leelou a massive hug*

Now imma get me some soup IRL!

I will get sick if I have to look at your siggy for to long. lol

My sister is obsessive with trying to stay healthy by cleaning herself, her kids and her house. I don´t think a little dirt is harmful. If it was, I would be sick all the time because I hate cleaning my apartment. In fact I think my sister and her kids is sick more often than me and my daughter.

Take care and hope you will feel better soon.

*sprays self down with disinfectant*

TY for the hug, but please wait until you are better. Hope the soup helps ya in RL. :)

I'm loving that the sig is drawing attention to itself. I can't think why it's doing that

I totally agree with you on the dirt thing. The body's secondary immune response is only built up with previous exposure to bacteria and the like - once you've had it you're a lot less likely to get it again (generally speaking - viral infections can mutate their protein coats :madmyrddraal:)

Thanks Tina! I'm keeping warm

Haha, oops. I totally didn't wipe my nose on your scarf when you weren't looking

And yeah, its working alright! Feeling happier by the spoonful heh.

Wow, you sound perhaps overly cautious?

Do you wear surgical gloves all day long?

gloves cause carelessness. people touch their faces thoughtlessly, which is where their hands, and gloves, become contaminated. the micorbes are carried on the hands as well as gloves to the victim's own face in the same way. and we have plague.

there is no such thing as overly cautious.

much better to not touch anything and to wash and sanitize after any possible ocntact.

Yeah, they can do a bit.

But at some point you have to just touch stuff and get ill
