Shakespeare should only be read by well cultured people. The complex language and evocative themes are beyond the scope of most. Few people I know are interested.

Well cultured people? I´m not sure I belong to that group but I have actually read literature classed at the university. I wouldn´t read Shakespeare in English though.

Just because I didn't have the opportunity, it doesn't mean I can't enjoy the simple pleasures of reading him. Sure, I may not be able to dissect his works like surgeon, but I can still grasp the essence of what he means.
