At about 4:30pm in Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada, and area, grassfires started. All day long we're have 130KM/H(80M/H) winds(something we deal with every day) and the fires started outside of city limits. At about 5:30pm certain residents have been notified to be prepared for evacuation. It is now just after 7pm and some people have been evacuated to the south side of the city(we're really small). It's crazy smoky and my mom is currently listening to the Fire and EMS radar. So yeah...we're not on standby but we live on the side of the city with a big fire. So far Stirling, Warner, Raymond, Magrath are either on standby or have been evacuated. So...I think this is the most excitment Lethbridge has had in a while. Just thought you should know

Thank goodness! Glad you and your family are safe. ^^ I know how nerveracking it is to be on the evacuation waiting list. Had my fill with Irene. :P

wildfires are a annual thing where I live. This seems late in the year for them, but the later the worse they are. Glad the fires got contained and you didn't have to evac.
