I noticed most social groupies don't get involved in the WoT discussion boards I wonder why that is...

I haven't gone over there in years. I started out over there, but found the social groups to be much more fun and inviting.

There are only so mant ways to say " The forsaken are idiots." or (insert character) is annoying. It gets old pretty fast.

This. But I sometimes actually have a look at the discussion. Once each few days.

After each book they pick up a lot. But I've been reading and re reading these books from day one so there isn't much to discuss with them.

 

That's not saying I wouldn't participate in a thread here though. I'd much rather talk with friends than deal with some of those personalities there.

I was in the general discussion boards for a little while presenting theorising on Demandred. I was buried by people who don't seem to understand that several reiterations of the same argument does not make stimulating discussion......

 

In other words I got bored quick, came to he BT and had some fun. I know the books well and assume everything that I have thought about them has been thought before, posted, replied to, disputed, and raged over by others.

everything about everything has already been said. still nice to chat. no need to turn books into some heavy pseudoscience tho. the creator was not infallible.

Indeed this would make a much more pleasant environment for a chat.

It just seems that some of the folks on those boards are more into bashing certain things or characters and are mostly worried about "being right". Then there is the whole beating a dead and cooked and chopped up horse to feed to the trollocs.

yea I made a Moiraine thread over there and it got turned into a how strong is Nynaeve compared to everyone else thread by the people there...

there are a few good trolls there. kind of an easy room to work that way tho.
