Poem on Rand

Featured Replies

Hey! As many of you, I am a huge fan of WoT, as well. While desperately waiting for 'A memory of Light', I decided to write a poem on Rand.

Personally, I find Rand the best out of all the characters, though Mat is hilarious! So here it goes, hope you like it. I spent quite some time on the poem and I find it interesting.

Here it goes:

Bow before me world,

For I am your only hope of salvation.

Bow before me world,

For I am the only hope for all nations.

Born once in a thousand year,

Callandor is mine, so is the Stone of Tear.

The dawn I claim, claim i will the evening.

Bow before me world,

For I am the Lord of Morning.

I am the king of myself, with none higher

Eyes of a dragon and a glare like fire

None have my glory, none have my might

Bow before me world,

For I am the True Defender of Light.

The Wheel weaves as I will,

Where'er I go, I bring hope and ruin

Whether it be Illian or even Cairhien

Bow before me world,

For I am the strongest ta'veren

Hope is where I am,

I am water for the Flame of Tar Valon

I am the Balefire for all the Forsaken

Bow before me world,

For even the Aiel name me Car'a'carn.

I Lay claim to darkness,

One bond unwilled, three fates I have torn

With no place for fear, marked twice with heron

Bow before me world,

For I am the Dragon Reborn.

With the blood of heroes,

Once sheeps were the only thing I worried for.

Rivers are forgotten, now I lay claim to Andor.

Bow before me world,

For I am the Shadowkiller Rand Al'Thor

I really hope you find it good. Please do care to review it for me. I know I am not perfect, so I want you to find what you think should be corrected.

Thanks,

Arpit

Well, I am not the greatest fan of poems. Niether do i have so much experience with poems. But i liked it. i found some bits a little ofputting in the begining. like the fell of it being broken due to the words not... sounding so well when i read it, but that was only in the begining. But i liked the poem. And this is from a guy who usually hates poetry.....

I liked it. Twas a little long tho. I like how you made "Where ever" into 2 syllables haha.

Thanks people! :)

@Rhavin: Thanks, I appreciate it :)

@Plato: If it is about Rand, shouldn't it be long? Lol :P Thanks, though :)

@Damandred: Haha. Thanks a lot :D
