movements while channeling

Do you think Aes Sedai, or any other person that can channel, move while they channel, because when I read I imagine them twisting hands or flailing arms while channeling.

No sort of physical gesture is needed when channeling, and moving will not impede channeling. We have seen Moiraine and Rand both channel from the back of a moving horse, or during a full sprint.

yeah i know that there is no need for movement from the battle with Moghedien where they said they were both standing still but I thought it would feel more natural to move while doing it, if you are still

Apparently many Aes Sedai (and some other channelers) feel that way too, since many of them make gestures when channeling. If they learn the weave with a gesture, then it becomes psychologically necessary for them. This is, in my view, a weakness, because then you could prevent a channeler from using certain abilities by simply tying them up. (Case in point, Rand/Lews Therin's inability to weave Arrows of Fire without raising his hands)

ok thanks. I never noticed they made gestures, but I always pictured it in my mind that way, and everytime I read that someone channeled the same question came up

Moairaine stated early on, in the series, that using getures, while channeling, is unnecessary, however she also stated that if you learn a particular weave, using a gesture, such as making a throwing motion, while hurling a fireball, that it is all but impossible to learn to do the weave without the gesture.
