^. Thought they did a pretty good job of portraying him after that scene where she totally dominates him in the sack. Before that I was pretty sad.. I've only read the first book though. He crop up later on too?

Well...after she seduced him anyway

even before she seduced him and got her confidence, Drogo didn't force her like in the tv show. he went slow, was gentle and stopped when she protested. like isaid, he was a literal gentle giant to her on that wedding night and subsequent nights; perferring her to come to him willingly, and not in a subserviant way either.

uhh he's still the "savage barbarian" type of character

he values pillage and rape and other such things

it's their culture

correction, Drogo never raped once Danny came into the picture, his followers did and he condoned it but he never did.

also, that was their culture; some cultures do things that we civilized cultures find disgusting and taboo.

your last post came off as you sayign he did though. i was correcting it for people who haven't read the books and have only seen the poor potrayal of him on the HBO show

The casting in this series has been phenomenal. All the new ones look spot-on. Even little Missendei looks so cute. Good to see the Blackfish.

Who is Orrell? Am I missing someone or is that a new character?

Orrell - spoiler tagged for those who don't want to know too much yet:

He's a wildling skinchanger who takes a dislike to Jon... remember in the books his eagle gores the hell out of Ghost.

Ah, thanks Songstress! Now I remember.

I think what makes him so unmemorable is that

he dies before he's introduced. When Jon and the ranger ambushed the three wildling lookouts and Jon captured Ygritte, Orell was there, but his human body was killed.

He was known as sixskins right?

He does make a cameo in DwD in which he gives strong clues as to what happened to Robb at the Red Wedding - his wolf going crazy after he dies.

Actually...

Varamyr Sixskins basically takes over Orrell's eagle after Orrell dies. I totally forgot Orrell was supposed to have been one of the ones killed when Ygritte was captured... The show is probably doing their thing condensing and simplifying the storyline by having only one wildling skinchanger. Probably.

Songstress>> Yeah, they will probably do that.

As a side note, I feel the need to show sme Ygritte love.

Rose Leslie is my newest screen-love. Must be the red hair.
