The morning had been tense for all. A lords son was dead and the chief adviser to another had been beheaded on a whim. The Iron Throne loomed like a tombstone in its otherwise barren chamber. The light of a young morning shone in through the stained glass windows of the Throne Room and cast the shadows of just two seats, one ornate and one simple. Outside the castle walls a plume of dust and the sound of clopping hoofs hinted at passage being granted. City life, for the most part, carried on oblivious to the wars being waged behind the walls of the castle at King's Landing. Wars carried on the swords of wagging tongues and jabs sent through the air with a glare rather than a strong cavalryman's arm, but wars nonetheless. Of the bodies left from the events of the night and day before, their was no sign, but the silent sisters traveled in safety back to the cold abode of Winterfell's Crypts to carry Robb Stark with all due honor. A storm brewed overhead down the Kingsroad. Cold grey eyes watched it with only one certainty. Winter was coming.

Alright finally got a breather at work. Tbh, I was hoping we'd be a little further in the scumhunt after logging off this morning, but I see once again the scumhunting has been stalled due to theme-focused spam. I swear, when I finally make my own mafia game I'm going to use the most obscure story ever so nobody knows enough to blab about it all the time

 

Also, some of the game setup talk is worrying me. While it does seem like this game might have slightly diff mechanics, it's still a little early to be speculating too much about it, and it also gives scum a good opportunity to try and breadcrumb some kind of weird concept which then becomes more believable when they try claiming it to be true.

 

I'm bout to start audit, but once I finish I'm gonna come back and go through the last few pages and see if there was some slip that scum might have tried to bury with spam, or some setup talk that seems to be "setting up" a mafia gambit

Not to question the insightful musings of one of Winterfell's great philosophers, but Hodor is trying to lynch his own Lord Stark, my father. While I think we can agree that character claiming is not a basis for alignment in this game, one would have a hard time convincing me that Ned Stark is anything but Town.

Spam is a mafia tactic. Don't let anyone convince you otherwise. Someone wants some of the stuff we discussed buried. This is mafia, no tea party.

Wait, WHAT?! It's never too early to speculate on how the game is set up. In order to properly scum-hunt, you gotta know what a scum looks and smells like first. You wouldn't hunt a bear with duck shot would you? What bothers me about your statement is that it strikes me as one who was depending on our assumption of a standard mafia game to run his gambit but now we've figured out the portion of the game you wanted us to be blind to.

Jack, to answer your question I am guessing based on the number of claimed roles do far and the coroner reports of the dead that this game is primarily roled. I am pretty sure there are still some vanillas out there tho

 

I have a question for some of the fans out there. How far into the story was it that king Robert died? And the same for eddard? The wiki gives dates but in a book storyline is not always in step with time. I get the impression both events happen fairly early.

Baratheon was probably first 3rd of the book and Ned toward the end of the book.

Ned died near the end as that is what caused Robb to rise up and become king of the North, which ended the first book. Baratheon was very early on.

Okay. I was off on thinking both were earlier then. So then would you guess Robert or someone else is currently sitting on the throne?

In this game with apparently a silent voter, deputy, a deputies deputy, every other night role cop, double voter with a pr condition (a la EP) I'm inclined to believe no one is "vanilla"

 

Although EP initially claimed vanilla so idk. So I'm a little timid atm

 

I claimed I was temp vanilla night 1 as my role was stolen for the phase, however as they used my ability I cannot use it this night, I have a suspicion that will be a re-occuring issue, Jack you are looking for a role thief, they will keep stealing from me to make me look suspicious.

 

Also I don't like Despo continually mentioning how it could be a "bastard Mod" move etc. etc. That just gives the impression that either you are right or this game is totally unfair which I think IS tunnel-vision when you don't know all the possible roles out there. It feels a tidbit manipulative to try and use this as an arguement.

 

Agreed. And even though it seems unlikely that everything should happen at ones with EP it might be truth. Not saying it is, but it could be. In Lily´s game we had random events happen every day and I happened to be targeted by three of five.

 

I'm interested in finding out people's oppinions on weather this is a mostly roled game or mostly nila

Well, to answer that you pretty much give away if you are roled or not.

The whole claiming it as bastard modding is a nice little ploy to cast doubt on the person being argued against

 

Why are we voting Ned Stark? Say what you want about the Firecrotch Witch being town, but the one character I would know to be town would be Ned Stark. Even if EP is making some of the stuff happening to him up, that doesn't make him scum. I find anyone voting EP after the

whole Throne mess to be highly questionable.

 

I like how Despo turned his attentions directly on EP to cast suspicion off him and Turin.

A true Game of Thrones would be to have all town players, in keeping with how everyone sees themselves as town, and each of them competing for the Iron Throne. Does anyone have a win condition that is similar to "when all threats to your crown are eliminated' or "all threats to your claim to the throne" are eliminated?

The fact that he asked this question means he does not have a "town" win condition. If he did..then his point would be moot and there would not be a full game of competing factions. My win condition states I win with town. Therefore his theory is bogus and he is scum

If you are not a potential heir to the throne, then of course your win condition would be normal, as is mine. If you were a Stannis, Danerys, Joffrey, or Ned, perhaps your win condition is different but still town. I am not an heir to the throne and I win with the town, but those who are might have a different win condition.

 

What I think is going on in this game is that everyone is town, but the heirs to the throne have a unique win condition about eliminating other threats to the throne.

 

Tbh I didn't really get this, I've never seen a setup like this

 

A) I think Mynd has a point about steering clear of claimed Ned Stark

 

B) I think there is a specific person who holds the Iron Throne that is given extra abilities

 

C) I think certain players have ambitions to claim the Throne

 

D) I think there are others that serve the throne loyally with no ambition to become King.

 

E) I believe it is my duty, and the duty of the town, to protect the King.

I'm glad we are on the same page Mynd. I suppose the Starks don't count as people who are trying to claim the Iron Throne since none of them have wanted it. Not Ned. Not Robb. He's King in the North, but not Iron Throne King. I also think the current King spoke to us directly yesterday with all that Hash Browns talk.
