I'm not sure why this never crossed my mind before, but it sure did this weekend while idlly breezing through Shadow Rising for the trillionth time.

 

It wasn't a battle. It couldn't have been in self-defense and they had no proof (since he WASN'T) that he was Shadowspawn. Yet, they sure killed him, alright - and with a knife in the back, no less :-(

 

Uhhh - HOW?

They cannot use the power as a weapon, however they can physically kill someone with physical objects, the specific oath prevents the power from being used thusly that is all.

doesn't matter, they killed him with physical objects not the power so non Black could have done it as well, but who the heck is Alric? sorry I don't remember the scene I just know what he posted.

Even though the vote to depose Siuan was technically illegal because the BA had it rigged, at the time the WT thought it was legitimate. Alric was stabbed with a knife during the attempt to capture her which would seem to indicate he was a casualty of warder on warder/youngling fighting. At the very least the OP was not used.

Siuan's warder I believe. Right after she was arrested by Elaida she saw him dead on the floor with the knife in his back.

A Warder killed him, though an Aes Sedai could have done it with a knife. The real question is, why didn't Siuan sense his death? But RJ answered that too.

He would have been stabbed when he came running to help her, feeling her shock at being captured, She definately would have felt it if he was stabbed before they entered.

Duh! I wasn't even thinking about the fact that the Oaths didn't restrict doing something by PHYSICAL means.
