Haha this would be awesome, Aes Sedai wins. She can use air, water, fire, earth, and spirit, while Jedi can only use something like air.

Lightsaber! (does lightsaber block balefire like the sword that is not a sword?)

Nope.

A lightsaber, may 'destroy' anything it touches, but it doesn't operate the same as balefire. It doesn't for instance.. Change Space and Time.

To put it simply, if used against palpatine using his force-storm, you could kill him, before he used it on yoru planet and thusly, it never went off! Course, that would probably cause you not to use balefire in the first place... but thats irrelevant, as he'd already be toast.

I wonder how the Jedi mind control would affect TAV. Or would the pattern bend the Jedi so that it always missed. Perhaps the Aes Sedai would trip on a rock and miss being spliced.

Don't spend your points and i will do it, after I get the turtle angreal. or actually I might get the snake, not right now though.

We talking one on one here, or a group of Jedi vs. a bunch of AS?

One on one, the Jedi has a good chance since most AS aren't very skilled in martial weaves, and even the most BA warder (:lan:) wouldn't really be able to do much against a lightsaber-wielding Jedi knight.

But in a group, the AS would completely dominate. They can heal, and have far more variety of uses for their power. And since pretty much all AS have a rock hard will, the jedi mind trick wouldn't work so well.

Jedi: These are not the droids you're looking for... *waves hand mysteriously*

AS: *uses compulsion, gets Jedi to tell her the truth*

AS: *balefires Jedi and droids*

Apart from AS are totally wet and can't usually tell their ar .... are not very good at being all battle-ish. That is why they have to have warders, cos they get so tired from whipping up a gentle breeze. Not many can actually do the Balefire after all.

Whereas a Jedi is like an AS and a Warder all rolled into one. How many AS would you see walk into a battlezone and cause the thousands of people there to want to run and hide because they know they will not survive the encounter?

I agree with you on the whole inexperience in battle thing, which is why I included warders in the scenario (and even they would still not really have much of a shot at slowing the Jedi down)

But honestly, I'm not thinking of the current AS when I thought of the question. I was thinking of the classic interpretation of them, where they were much more powerful and knowledgeable in the One Power. After all, it's the same True Source they're dealing with, they just didn't suck like the Third Agers did.

And one other thing I think you're passing over. With multiple AS you get circles, and with combined power from multiple powerful AS you could easily BF the everloving dog stuff out of some Jedi. Or blow the crap out of them with fireballs, or ice storms, or any other kind of insane weave. And since they can heal each other, it becomes very difficult to really seize momentum from them.

Plus, if the Jedi get to have their lightsabers, then AS get to bring their angreal and ter'angreal

Also, good AS are not allowed to use compulsion. It is a big no-no remember?

Who said these were "good" AS we were talking about here? I was envisioning a scenario where an AS would be able to pull literally any trick with the OP out of their sleeve they wanted to. Weaves of Spirit to cause the Jedi to hallucinate, slice them open with a gateway, do that whole extremely thin crazy sharp and also invisible weave of Air to lop their heads off in one stroke. That kind of thing
