mom's coming to visit. i drink instant. she does not.

 

i bought a french press but i have no idea what kind of coffee to get.

 

yeah, i know, coarse ground.

 

but what kind? what brand? what....

 

she likes strong coffee without non coffee flavors in it.

 

something available in the northeastern US.

 

any ideas?

Not familiar with coffee there, sorry .

My personal favorite types of coffee are usually colombian or southern blends, colombian ones especially have a very robust flavor. But if she's not into all the non-coffee flavor type stuff, maybe just some fresh organic type coffee from one of those earthfare type stores.

 

If you're not shy about shellacking a more than modest amount for your coffee, Green Mountain Nantucket Roast blend is awesome, and would prob be up her alley

i have seen green mountain in the supermarket. we don't have hippie stores here, though... so maybe green mountain.

 

it might be helpful to mention that as far as i know her favorite coffee is classic mcdonalds... which she claims is better than everyone else says...

 

i like instant better than mcdonalds, personally, but i'm only in it for the caffeine.

I think McDonald's uses Folgers.

really? I like folgers instant. maxwell house is better, but I can get both at the market.

it sounds familiar... but it's not in the US? i must be thinking of green mountain... i dislike aritifical barriers such as this. the actual barriers are bad enough, but i want access to this coffee.
