I'd have to say ... Eye of the World or Towers of Midnight ...

EotW because of the way RJ introduces us to his world. He creates a new world with his pen and makes it reality on paper. It's amazing the depth and pure realness of his characters that make them and him truly unique.

ToM mainly because its the closest thing we have to an ending so far. And I LOVE how Sanderson embraces the style od RJ's writing.

The Shadow Rising. Rand's trip to the Waste and Rhuidean was the absolute best part of the series. Other than Dumai's Wells, but other than that scene, LoC was meh. I really hate the Wondergirls with a passion.

I'm going to have to agree here. I love the world RJ sets up in the first three, Rand's transformation and all that. But tSR elevated the series to something else entirely for me. Seeing a glimpse of the Aiel in the AoL was incredible. Rand's ascension as the Car'a'carn, capturing Asmodean, all that. It was just amazing. For me, the most pivotal part of the series, as Rand's not only embraced his role, but built on it. He begins learning to truly channel through Asmodean after this point, the inclusion and importance of the Aiel really begins at this point... so so so much to love.

I love Towers of Midnight as well, EoTW is of course a great beginning to it all... but I'm going with tSR too.

There was a huge change of pace in tSR. I don't know about "best book", but one of the best chapters was definitely Veins of Gold in tGS - that was a pretty wow moment- , and a personal favourite is the first chapter of ToM with the apple blossoming. That chapter but a hugee smile on my face. Worst is CoT.

And the prologue of TEotW! Awesome stuff. I had actually completely skimmed it the first time I picked it up and completely missed out on some of the story depth on my first read of the series :(
