Amen. I am too young to have watched the moon landing on TV, but I will miss him greatly.

The story of Lenn, who flew to the moon in the belly of an eagle made of fire, and his daughter Salya who walked among the stars. Jordan has confirmed these to be references to John Glenn and Sally Ride. Among the first words uttered by Neil Armstrong on the first moon landing were "The eagle has landed"

 

Not a direct reference to Neil Armstrong in the book, but I think RJ would share your feelings.

I did watch the landing, and Neil Armstrong's moonwalk, live (the latter was 4am-ish over here!)

 

And I don't care HOW they do it, but they MUST send his ashes to the Sea of Tranquillity!

I think he is going for burial, not cremation
