Just though I should mention that the Paralympic opening ceremony is on right now! (despite the tourch relay being a couple of hours behind)

 

Venues have been converted and for the next 11 days thousands of people will be competing in familiar sports such as running, swimming, shotput and some different sports like boccia and wheelchair rugby (aka murder ball!)

 

So, is it being broadcast where you are? Will you be watching?

I watched some of it, but it got very late and I had to go to bed. Been watching some of the events - these people are absolutely amazing! It's very humbling to see how some people with extraordinary physical problems can overcome that and participate to this level.
