how is it that this site is hit by so many spam bots and none of the mods seem to go through and delete the threads these things start?

Since it's a public site, it let's in spam. The Mods do go through and clean it out, but it takes a while.

mods can delete threads all day, but they can't delete the users. the admins have to do that. we do clean them out all the time, but since we can never be sure of when we will be here or when the bots will post, it can take some time.

Such an evil part of the internet. You can do one thing one day to completely block them out and then about a week later they have broken down and changed their entrance patterns. Boo on bots.

I was merely curious because I post on many forums and have even on the largest ones, have never seen the invasion that this board recieves.

We delete spam as soon as we see it. However, since none of us live on the internet, sometimes a post will stay up for a few hours until someone who can deal with it gets online. It happens.

Which forums get attacked is pretty random. Once the bots find you, they don't let up. I had a forum for YEARS that never got any spam. Now it gets hit several times a day. No one can figure out why.
