First Day At High School

Ack!!!! Today was my first day at the High School, and I had to get up at 5:45 (I know that those who have gone to school for a while and work don't think it a big deal, but my sleeping pills say otherwise). I went to the bus stop, and on my way there, I saw this bus leaving from our bus stop at 6:20, so I started freaking out because my bus was supposed to be at the stop at 6:43. Then I found out it was the middle school bus. When the bus came, holy cow was it crowded!!! My friend Brittany, and aquaintance Dominic  ended up being 3 to a seat. When I got to the High School, I had no idea where to go, so I started hyperventilating, but then I found my first class. Not long after, Dominic comes in and tells the teacher "I think I'm in your class", and so my first thought was "shoot me now!!" Then he found out it was the wrong period, but I still had a bunch of jerks in my class. During lunch I met a new friend who happened to be in my homeroom and go to P.E. with me, and so she, my other two friends and I talked for a while. That's been the highlight of my day: I made a new friend!!!

How was everyone else's first day at a new school, or just school in general? The first day doesn't have to be today. I just felt the need to start a topic about my first day, and I was wondering how others did...

i remember my first day in the my current school (about 2 years ago) since the schools only 10 minutes away from home i walk and how i entered the wrong class and almost hit the P.E teacher's head from a stray kick and ooh i almost forgot i was the only boy in class for 2 days before my friends showed up  .

That's great you made a new friend on your very first day!

First days were always emotionally draining for me. Frantically looking for a parking space, anxious hurrying about campus to find what building I need to go to, what classroom, trying to persuade professors to add me to their classes! Where's the cafeteria? How do I get a locker? Where's the library?

I almost started crying when people were pushing and shoving me and I couldn't find my class or remember my locker or schedule. I don't do well with crowds.

you worry too much... really, you didn't have an orientation or anything, jerks/noisy people/ people you don't like are bound to be in every class, learn to live with it, it'll stay that way till the end of school and probably extend to uni, if you go

and take sleeping pills o.O

I have sensory and noise issues... it comes with my Asperger's Syndrome

It does? That might explain my own insomnia... I just can't shut my brain down.

*shakes head pitifully*

Oh, you're uncomfortable about it? I generally am, but with people I "know" I share it because it explains why I am the way I am (although it's not an excuse)

I'm not uncomfortable, but I hate the way people think they have to coddle you if you say you have a disorder. Plus I don't like feeling as if I'm using it as an excuse.

True... I hate it when people think that it makes me stupid... and I don't use it for an excuse, I just explain in a non excuse way

yup  although I guess it makes me stupid to not use the brain I have. Do you have ADHD as well? (you don't have to answer)

Nah. I see most colors, just everything is shifted a little bit toward the red side of the spectrum. So some blues become purple, some greens become brown, and some darker colors fade into black.

I used to have this jacket that I saw as brown, and I had the funniest conversations with people about what color it was...
