I took my middle schoolers to Jekyll Island, Georgia for three days. We climbed tress that were over two hundred years old, stood on a windswept beach at dawn and watched the dolphins play, walked through a marsh with mud smeared on our faces and ate plants, pet rays and horseshoe crabs, took silent walks in the dark through the dunes, put kids in canoes for the first time in their lives and play all sorts of silly games.

It was an amazing, almost spiritual experience. I realized why I love teaching middle school so much. You get to have a strong role in guiding these children to become wonderful adults.

Anyways, I don't have any pictures yet, but if I find some that don't show the kids' faces, I'll post them.

I maintain that my end of the state is the best in all of Georgia. *grins* Glad you (and the kids!) had fun down here, Kath!

Welcome back, Mother!

BTW, I really like your sig.

P.S. If you ever want to bring "your" kids to the "World's Most Beautiful Beaches" let me know - perhaps we could arrange a "DM sighting!"

Arnifyan, check your avatar. =)

Daruya, thanks! It was made by the lovely ladies of the Illuminators Org. I'm test driving it to see if its "me". I'm difficult, I know.

Yes, that's an awesome sig... :)

BTW, I made one too, I just had been busy and sick. I'll post it up on your thread over there and if you like it at all, you can use it in the future or something.
