I read a theory on the Obsidian website that it might be a game about Ragnarok (Norse pantheons version of the apocalypse)

Has there ever been any hint at all from Obsidian that they were possibly going to look into WoT?

If I remember right, some other company has already bought the right to making the game. Although I think that a "Elder scrolls" type of game would suite WoT the best. Can't think of anything better.. Alot more story, progression through the story and so on.

Red Eagle partnered with Obsidian to make the WoT game(s)

That project is most definately probably not wheel of time. It may have the snake picture on it. but it definately isn't wheel of time. The text to accompany said splash images... just aren't wot related.

 

That is, unless they are doing a double tease...

It fits with the text better than WoT does.

 

Side note, theres some code under the view-source of that webpage.

 

Basically theres some random xx-x's and such..

And each day theve been replaced with letters.

Right now it seems they spell

Eternity.

 

which might be the name of the project.

Theres already mention of demons and such in those splash pages. Some kind of magic, and alot of suffering. To me it sounds like more and more a dark-fantasy type setting.

Though Obsidian has mentioned interest in a Post-Apocaplytic setting. (perhaps a post-apoc-fantasy one?... though technically. wot is a post-apoc-fantasy setting. LOL)

"Eternity" is probably a reference to the Ouroboros picture which I think is Jormungandr specifically

I'm pretty convinced that whatever this is it is going to be heavily influenced by Norse mythology

PROJECT ETERNITY is now PILLARS OF ETERNITY, complete with some highly promising gameplay footage. No release date, though a window of mid-to-late 2014 is still expected.

 

Obsidian are still willing to make the WHEEL OF TIME RPG, by the way. Red Eagle are simply in charge of funding it and so far haven't been able to find the money to do it. Y'know, because of their gross incompetence and constant mishandling of the licence.
