Week 15 Results

 

We had a lot of players trying the Hail Mary this week. Mr. Soy Boyo, Wombat, and Ishy all tried for the 10 points but alas all failed. The Colts could not hang with the Texans. The rest of the players fared much better. Hax and Balefired-ed2 won 5 points with the Broncos. TGIems and SD both won 5 points in the Packers win over the Bears (come on Bears!). 

 

As a result, our playing field has narrowed as the pack begins to catch the leader, Ishmael Forsaken.

Week 16 Results

 

Hax and Balefired-ed2 chose the Giants who laid an egg against the Ravens, and Sinister Death went head to head against TGIem's pick with Dallas - and lost. The winners for the week included TGIems winning 5 points with the Saints. Mr. Soy Boyo took 5 points with the Charges win. And Ishy slid into the win column once again with 3 points for the Redskins.

 

We come into the final week with Ishmael Forsaken firmly in the lead by 13 points. However, it is still a close battle in the rest of the field.

Did yall want to work out a Playoff system or end the pick'em this week? Interested anyone?

I think that I will go with RG3 and the Skins at home to win the division.

 

Also, I am down for the playoffs, and laid out a bit of a system if anyone is interested.

Bengals! I kinda wanted to pick the Skins, but I can't keep picking the same as balefired-ed every week.

If you want, we could even bet points in the playoffs.

Course, IMO that would require people voting on the the same game, and willing to bet there points,on said game. (winner would get the base points + the bonus ones bet)

 

Course, if both people vote for the same team... perhaps a point spread bet if they are both up for it?

I'm awfully tempted by the Hail Mary again this week.  Last time I picked the Hail Mary it almost happened...but, I think this week I'll go

Also, I'm in for any playoffs.

I propose the following for Playoff Format.

 

1) Everyone is eligible.

2) Every uses the point totals achieved so far as a pot.

3) Each person may bet on the games each week for any amount of their pot. You may split your bet however you want between multiple teams. 

4) Each game will be ranked with an odds payout.

5) If you pick the winner, you win points. If you pick the loser, then you lose the amount wagered. 

6) The Super Bowl bet will include a tie breaker bonus for total number of points scored. So you pick the team AND the total points.

7) Highest points total at the end, wins the Pick'em. 

 

Odds amounts will be set similar to the Regular Season but instead of 2-point, 3-point, and 5-point games. They will be 2:1, 3:1, and 5:1 payouts for specific winners. No Hail Mary games in the Playoffs.

 

In this way, your points from the regular season help you now. So Ishy would have the natural advantage since he has the most points, so he could theoretically play it safe. TGIems has fewer points so would need to play some risk.

Whatever everyone decides for the postseason is A-OK with me.
