actually the giver is typically perceived to be lower in status the the receiver. receiving is a display of dominance, particularly male dominance. i can't find the words to explain it more without breaking rules.

considering the control the catcher has.... not really getting that. consider the potential for harm, the trust involved, the loss of control...
