Hello all. I first picked up the WoT back in grad school in 2005 and read them all pretty quickly, buying new ones as they came out. With AMoL coming out I'm in the process of re-reading all the books right now. It is actually a lot of fun, I sit there in anticipation of events to come and am constantly reminded of things I've forgotten.

 

One minor inconsistency has shown up and I'm wondering if anyone can comment on it. It seems that Aes Sedai captured by the Seanchan can use channeling to harm people. RJ made a point of saying they could not tell a lie, even after becoming da'mane, but it seems like it was insinuated that they are still channeling "hurtful" weaves, though I have a hard time remembering a specific instance.

 

Anyways, good to be a part of the boards and I look forward to AMoL coming out!

1st off welcome to Dragonmount.

 

Secondly I can't recall any incidents of Aes Sedai damane using the power as a weapon, but When Mat is planning to rescue Teslyn, she tells him that there are only three other Aes Sedai Edesina, Guisin and Mylen that are damane. (This is before the attack on the tower). I would doubt there are many others that were taken before the attack on the white tower. If you have found any that seem to use it as a weapon then it may well be a hint towards them being members of the Black Ajah.

If you head into the 'Wheel of time discussion area' there are loads of theories etc related that may have something useful related to it. (Just stay away from the spoiler boards unless you have read the bits of AMoL that have bee pre-released.

Thanks Testy, it took me a minute but I figured it out. Also, thanks for the mention about Tuon's thoughts, I am rereading and haven't gotten there yet, about to start book 6, so I have a ways to go before Jan 8th!
