Aes Sedai symbol in real life

Featured Replies

The other day I saw what is exactly the ancient Aes Sedai symbol on a CAD drawing. If anybody is a CAD expert, is the symbol used in drafting for something? I couldn't figure it out, especially since I couldn't figure out what the CAD drawing was showing - it was a part that I had never seen in my life, and the drawing wasn't very clear, but the symbol was in the center of the top view of the part (I think).

I just thought of posting this here, because I thought it was a cool coincidence.

The AS symbol is just yingyang without the dots right? Can't imagine it would be that hard to find in a range of contexts.

In Chinese version, Saidin was translated into 'power of Yin' and Saidar 'power of Yang'.

Yes the colors are inverted compared to what the traditional Yin Yang symbol have, however if you look at how Saidar and Saidin are described in the books then Saidar is much closer to Yin and Saidar is much closer to Yang so I only think it is the colors which are inverted, probably because it is easier to illustrate the "good guy" order of female mages with a white flame like symbol and tainted male mages with a black one.

if you look up drafting symbols. looking under architecture prints you will see the symbol for a fan is like the Aes sedai symbol but it isn't black and white.

Mind=Blown. Aes Sedai are really just fans, and the Pattern is really just an AutoCad design.

Where's that Keanu Reeves meme?
