Life Changer

Tonight I'm watching Equilibrium, one of my top 3 movies ever, along with Serenity and Garden State.

I noticed tonight that they have a central theme: removing emotion to change people, and how humanity overcomes, that were defined by our emotion, not afflicted by it. A good message, even in our darkest moments.

So, what movie, music, book, eye has changed your life, or given you a good message or new insight?

I don´t think I have seen a movie that changed my life but I loved Dead Poets Society and I think I was encouraged by it.

Book that changed my life: Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand.

It showed me many things. 1 - you must never compromise your integrity.

2 - sometimes to win, you must surrender

3 - a book can be many things at once. Fiction, romance, mystery, adventure and a dissertation of personal ideology

4 - 1000 page books are good !!!

Well... as cheesy as it's going to sound since we're discussing this on DM... but the Eye of the World.

It started my love for the series. That led me here to DM. And DM led me to meet some of my best friends, not to mention the man I'll be marrying in less than 2 months.

So, really, when it comes to one book changing my life, nothing competes with EotW.
