Gandalf could have teleported the ring to mordor, or just blown through all the armies. Hell, he could have just pointed at Sauron and blown him up. But his hands were tied, just like Bombadils.

They never included Radagast (except for one brief mention by Sauron) in the movies, and they never included the blue wizards at all. I used to hate the books and thought the movies were much better, but I reread them and now I say the movies were barely half as good as the books. I picture Gollum as being the evil version of Tom Bombadil.

The movies could defenitely have been better, but considering the standard of book to movie adaptations... Go watch Eragon and the Lightning Thief and you'll see why I have very little problems with the LotR ones.

Well those two set the bar very very very low. Need to be a limbo champion to get under them.

The Eragon movie in my book gets a 0 out of 10... the Lightning Thief definitely could've been better, but it still gets about a 6 out of 10

No. WAAAAY too many liberties taken with that movie. Percy is not sixteen, nor is annabeth. Annabeth is not a brunette. Grover is not black (I mean, I guess he could be, but i really doubt it). The pearls were not the focus of the quest. Luke was not the main villain. KRONOS EXISTED. Grover didn't stay in hades. And so on and so forth. I can come back if you want me to.

Oh purlease. The worst book to film adaptation ever was The Dark is Rising.

Oh. Thats really most of my rating when there's source material. If you're going to adapt something, then adapt it. Don't make something entirely different that happens to have the same name.
