What happened to Uno and the other Shienarans?

Featured Replies

Have they been mentioned at all recently? Or have they just been forgotten

I feel bad for them because they were the first people to accept Rand as the Dragon Reborn and they have nothing to show for it except getting dragged around by the rebels in Salidar

I feel like they should get at least a shout out in the last book

Maybe because Uno is really Demandred. He drove Masema mad, subverted Roedran while around Salidar, and has been building armies.

I'm kidding

Uno and the rest of the Shinerians are under Bryne's command in the White tower armies and have been since book 5.

What?! Why?! Uno swears better than Mat.

that is true, but it isn't "bloody ashes" it is "blood and ashes". that is one of the annoyances that many readers have with the way brandon writes mat. only sometimes does bloody ashes get said, and that is when someone says "blood and bloody ashes"

Several of the Shienarians died after TGH, as Uno tells Nynaeve when he runs into her at the menagerie. Masema and three others get that old time religion and do not end well. The rest join the Rebel Tower army after Elayne and Nynaeve reach Salidar and have only popped up here and there since. (E.g., in Crossroads of Twilight Ragan brings Egwene a message from Bryne and she has to hold her to keep from addressing him by name.)

With Bryne sent to Caemlyn Uno will probally have command at FoM. When Egwene orders Uno to attack she will then learn most of the SAS army was Dragonsworn the whole time.

I always thought Uno and Talmanes had a thing worked out on the march concerning the Band's "deserters."

I understand that Uno and Shienarians ended up in Salidar as part of the rebel AS army and are now in Tar Valon. My question is what gives them the right to do this? Is there loyalty not to Shienar? Do they not have an obligation to return there and defend their nation in TG? Of better yet should not not technically still be hunting Paden Fain as that was their original mission? Just a few thoughts.

Remember that when they became dragonsworn they made extensive use of the whole "he shatters all ties" bit or however it goes. Basically, all oaths are rendered null and void.

Very religious of them.
