First, two announcements on changes for Hot Thread points:

 

1) Effective for October Hot Threads - each threshold of 50 replies gets 5 points no matter when it crosses the threshold - it has been calculated incorrectly in the past, but there are a maximum of 15 points available per thread.

 

2) Effective for November Hot Threads - "spam your own" threads in The Village will no longer be counted for Hot Thread points. Faction tasks to create solo spam threads will be awarded task points only. Other threads in The Village aside from official staff announcements and 100 Questions threads are still eligible for Hot Thread points.

 

Things were a bit less spammy than usual this month, outside of the games and the Goal: 200,000 thread...

 

Threads counted include everything in the main board and the Village that is NOT an official staff announcement or pinned game thread. To be counted, the thread must have crossed a threshhold (50 posts, 100 posts, or 150 posts) between October 1st and October 31st - midnight Pacific Daylight Saving Time. I checked the September Hot Threads post to make sure whether something was counted in September or not.

 

The October Hot Thread winner was once again WildTaltos, who gets an extra 10 points.
