Nine horse hitch

Sorry if this has has been brought up because I know it has, but could the nine horse hitch be a reference to santas sleigh? Dasher, dancer, prancer, vixen, comet, cupid, donner, blizten, and rudolph? Not something dirty the way RJ made it out to be? Or what I originally thought, lol.

RJ's answer points to it being what you originally thought...

What exactly IS a Nine-horse hitch? C'mon, tell us ;) We can handle it...we're all big boys and girls.

Robert Jordan

If you don't know already REALLY you aren't old enough.

Well my first thought when I read it was something dirty. So you're saying my Santa idea is right?

Think it's safe to say it's dirty if he told the person asking they weren't olde enough if they didn't know already.

I'm pretty sure it is explained somewhere on the 13th Depository. In a topic about Inn names IIRC. (13th depository being another WoT fansite)

Don't happen to have a Link do ya? I'm on my phone and can't search properly.

@sutt. I always assumed some of his answers were to the effect of "really you don't get that?" Just assumed that was one of them.

Who knew that Demandred would be so cooperative? Even if he is me reborn ;) thanks BBM.

But still it just hints at it. So it COULD still be an innocent reference. Although after reading about the 'nine whores itch' not so sure. But like 13 said prostitution isn't prevalent in WoT at least not explicitly. So there's like a 10% chance I may be right?

Possibly, it is as likely as your username.

Seriously though, it could just be RJ having a bit of a laugh at us all, but it really does seem to be of a sexual nature.

Aww..that's just mean :'(

And yeah my first thought was something dirty but after reading about mosk/merc/lenn/salya/etc...I started thinking about it. But yeah you and suttree are probably right

A wise decision. It is inevitable. Luckers and Suttree are brilliant, I don't mind admitting, but not quite so brilliant as myself. (see what I did there )

I'm glad you liked it, but preferably no flaming here, I think we have derailed the thread enough

That's what I mean about you making me laugh. And yeah we did but I think I've had my question answered.

Especially since they are on the opposite team Luckers and suttree should have a chance to respond to the challenge. ;) lol

"Easing the badger" an inn in Illiean, means "cheating without ever really saying so and degrading the whole social structure" - aka cheating with someone who is not your spouse.

But if I could form a DM debate team I would want you on my side vs Luckers and sutt.

Choose wisely mate, there is a reason why "almost" would be the word to describe Barid Bel Medar's life.

I took it as a reference to a part of the male anatomy that was big enough for nine horses to be hitched to it.

Any words can be made to appear as a sexual innuendo though, "Easing the Badger" could be as bad as a "Nine Horse Hitch".
