Need help finding a good series!

Featured Replies

Hey guys. New to the forums, though I would join up since I just finished the latest book and am waiting on the next. Here's the kicker. I am moving to Australia for a year and am looking to start a new series until the next book comes out. I have a 46 hour flight ahead of me.

I really enjoy how powerful Rand is. I have always been a fan of strong characters that can kick some ass. Goku being another example.

Other things I enjoy - The Forsaken. I think having more than 1 antagonist is a huge thing for me. I really like anything to do with Wheel of Time, honestly, and I am afraid of wasting my time on a new series =(

My wife has every Sword of Truth book, but I am not convinced that this is a series that I would enjoy.

So, if any of you could help suggest some good ones, I would appreciate it! Thanks!

It's a bit off from this style of fantasy, but I would recommend the series of Grantville books (1632, 1633, etc.) by Eric Flint (some books co-authored). In a nutshell, due to a science experiment about a million years in the future gone horribly awry, a modern-day South Carolina town gets transported smack in the middle of 17th century Europe. Also, Brandon Sanderson's entire body of work is very good. George R R Martin's "Song of Ice and Fire" series is first rate. The original Dragonlance series by Weiss & Hickman are amazing.

Yeah, go to the link Suttree provided and have a look there. I am going to lock this topic, it's for the general discussion, not WoT Discussion.
