Hey all,

 

After some discussion on the Community staff board, we've decided to make some changes to how we run the Book Discussion forums.

 

We're going to keep this board as a General, all purpose WoT discussion forum. People may freely post theirs thoughts, impressions and theories without restriction here.

 

After the first of the year, we'll be switching the KoD board over to a strictly moderated board. Only moderators may post new topics, but any user can respond to a topic. We'll seed the board with a few starter topics on the big debates, the major characters and each book. The threads will be kept strictly on topic. If a tangent pops up that you'd like to discuss in depth, a moderator will open another topic for you.

 

This is something of an experiment for us. When I've seen this type of moderating done, it results in very clean, detailed, and thoughtful discussions. Ideas don't get repeated and clarity of thought is valued. We're interested in seeing in seeing if there is an interest in this type of forum.

One question, which one is the KoD board? Or is that just a typo and its really the aMoL board?

Its officially the KoD spoiler and AMoL speculation board. But its not really getting used that way, so we're using it for craaaaazy experiments.

But there will probably be another moderator in addition to Maj on that board. This is going to be a bit more labor intensive to manage than is typical.

I've started setting up the new forum. Things may look a bit weird while I'm working. Thank you for being patient.
