Vin's a pretty awesome character.  While she's kind of one of the good guys, she does start out with a group of thieves, so there's a chance she might indeed be mafia.

If we are going by character... Id say there is no way Vin would be mafia. Ever. She was not a bad person at any point in the books.

And thats just going by character. I still had a nice talk with WoT in the QT about scum and town.

Ok, finally caught up! The things that stood out the most to me are Len and Time (for the mentioned reasons). I don't know what to think about the Neighbor claims as it isn't always same alignment. (I played in a game where the mafia had a neighborizor role...they became neighbors with a townie).

A note to address Kaylees thing. We are not neighborizor's. We cannot make anyone else a neighbor. Its just us two.

I'm sorry Lenlo, but I don't find that sufficient to vote someone. FAR from sufficient.

I actually think you're just trying to get Ithi lynched, maybe because you're afraid she's too good a scumhunter or something like that?

For now I'll

vote Lenlo

So you dont think that is sufficient enough to vote someone but you then say that this is enough to vote someone? Double standards?

You vot her because she backs up Player, according to you, yet you don't give an example, and you also feel like she's going for anyone, no matter if she thinks he/she is Town or Mafia, which just sounds like bullsh*t as it's pretty dumb, IF you are town, to go after someone you don't think is mafia.

I vote you for trying to get a train on someone with above-mentioned crap, and that's something different, as I have a reason for my vote, this reason being that you do not have a reason.

I have to say, thats a pretty BS reason. I didnt vote her for backing up player as I said before thats a minor thing.

And your right it is a dumb thing to go after someone no matter if you think they are town as mafia if you are town. That would be why I dont think she is town.

Your reason for voting me is you dont think I have a reason. Thats pretty stupid and im still calling double standards.

If "backing up player" is a minor thing, well, then I still need to have the major reasons. My vote Does. Not. Move. until you give them, complete with quotes which brought you to those reasons.

This just isn't cutting it, and you're throwing more pings than a submarine under a destroyer task force by pushing an unsubstantiated case which you keep claiming to have substantiated.

+1

These are the special roles that Darthe has created for this game. I have coloured them according to the alignment that makes the most sense to me, Red for mafia, Blue for town, and green for third party.

Godfatherizer: Chooses one player nightly. When viewed that player shows a false reading for role or alignment.

I say this would be mafia as it protects players from a cop's viewing. This helps to keep them hidden. Town would not need this power.

Death gifter: Grants several people abilities upon their passing

Town as it seems to be that players get gifts if the named player dies. I believe that this is why Dap was vanilla but had two oracle views in parentheses. If the death gifter died that is what he would have received. There might be several players that are currently vanilla but will be given gifts if the Death Gifter is killed.

Sacrifice: Dies instead of another player (lynch or NK) on the phase of their choice.

Town as it is a means of protecting town power roles in a situation where they would be vulnerable.

Ability Thief: Borrows the abilities of the player they target for that night (player still has their own use, if x shot ability has been used up then this player gets nothing)

Stealing abilities just feels like a mafia ability. Every time I have seen it used it was mafia aligned. It is possible that it could be town but I doubt it.

Bloodsucker: Nightly kill. Twice the individual may permanently gain some of the powers from the person they kill. This could also be mafia.

This seems to be a derivative of the SK role in which they also get an additional bonus of the possibilty of gaining some abilities.

Redoubler: for every 2 votes on the individual the power of their vote raises by 1

This role is primarily a means of escaping a lynch. envision two competing trains in the range of 8 each with 12 to lynch. The redouber is one of them. he places his vote on the other train creating an immediate lynch. It actually gets more dangerous the later in the game it goes. The fact that it could be stolen is even more troubling.  The way the role description is written is making me very worried about those that haven't voted.

Dreaming God: the player has six named powers at their disposal (psychological, manipulative, festive, rebirthing, diverse, restful). One must be used each day/night cycle. The player personally wins upon using all abilities. This could also be Third party due to the win condition.

I am thinking Town as it was town in the only game I remember seeing it in.

These are all just my opinions on these roles from the descriptions given by Darthe. I realise this is a form of setup speculation but I think it is a case that might actually be worth discussing how the town can best utilize the roles they have. And also to best protect against the anti-town roles.

This can be a hot button issue for some so I am sure that some will be suspicious of my bringing it up.

Nice post.

Also it seems I was wrong about the redoubler earlier. I hadn't read the OP again when talking about it, and apparently remembered it wrong. It seems that, how it works, if there are, for example, 6 votes on the redoubler, his vote on someone else counts for 4 (1 + 3).

Okay, I think the neighbor claim pings hard. Both Len and Time are presenting this as confirming that the other is town, despite the fact that they are claiming neighbors and not masons. I have no familiarity with either source material, so I won't claim any inkling as to the likelihood of their character. I haven't actually heard of Vin. But I'm going to bet that one or both of them is mafia. What are the odds of them making up this neighbor thing out of thin air?

The odds? Extremely large. Lenlo sounds totally different from before their claim, which is on itself already suspicious, they are both scummy, and it's really easy to fake neighbors as mafia. My vote does not move from Len.

Again, I want to know what your betting so I can collect at the end of this game when your wrong.

Hmmmmmmm what are the odds that both people with the most a£ount of votes just happen to be neighbours on a QT.

Len, you are using a lot of negative language about people this game - like 'stupid' and 'dumb' why is that? I know you are more usually articulate so why are you acting as if you are all cross and mean.

That doesn't sit quite right with me for some reason.

Got my boys all day today so will be mostly absent, for serious thoughts, until this evening.

Hm... I wonder why you choose to believe that your neighbour is town.

That's an interesting question :) I wonder what the answer will be.

Hm... I wonder why you choose to believe that your neighbour is town.

I dunno. Maybe you should bother to actually read what I say and see that I said I had a lengthy discussion and questioning time with WoT in the QT we were given. Or maybe the fact that we were both told each others characters by the mod and I believe Vin to be town. Or are you people once again skimming over the things I say?

And yes Ithi I am cross because of things like this. Read people. Seriously.

You seem to be skimming over my request to provide a quote to back up your accusations against me.

Why won't you do that? You said you would. I still have a bad feeling that you are trying to distract me and so are playing as atagonistic as possible.

You know better than to get cross about a Mafia Game.

Again, I want to know what your betting so I can collect at the end of this game when your wrong.

What do you mean with my "betting"? (I'm not English...)

And as Ithi said, why are you getting mad?

Finally Mish. Could you please vote someone? even if it is me.

Why are you poking me? o.O Why no-one else that hasn't voted?

I was gonna vote Len today, but now I don't know what to do... I'm not sure I trust this neighbour claim.

@Mish, actually that request to vote was intended for Time.

That was an error on my part. But it is good. For everyone to vote and give their opinions.

the two times ive seen neighbourizer role was both when i was on the mafia team, ive never seen them being associated with town (as i remember in rand's hobbit game, darthe got lynched cuz he said he was neighbourizer).......

They are no neighbourizers, but neighbours. That's different, as far as I understood it. I know that neighbour is 2 town OR 1 town 1 mafia, while what I understood from neighbourizer is that it is a role that makes people neighbours.

There is a difference between neighbourizer, and neighbours. Neighbours start out as two, and stay two. A neighbourizer, starts out alone, and can make neighbours of others. Just like how masons start out as a pair and stay that way, masonizer can bring in others.

In both the Hobbit game and the Calvin and Hobbes game the role of neighbor/neighborizer was a scum role.  Every game that I have seen where town gets a QT they have been called Masons.

So, I think either that both Len and Time are scummates or both are town.  They have both stated that Darthe put their roles in the QT, so it is unlikely they could fake claim if only one was scum and one was town.  I'm going to go with scummates at this point based on play so far and

unvote, vote Lenlo

The point of neighbours is to leave it ambiguous. It does not guarantee a mafia either.
