Oh!  I almost forgot another favorite: Fried Figs with honey and cinnamon

Ingredients:

4-6 fresh figs, cut in half

1 tbs butter (margarine works too, but butter gives it more flavor)

1 tbs honey

1/4 tsp cinnamon

In a small frying pan, melt the butter and honey together.  Place the figs cut-side down in the pan for 3-4 minutes, occasionally sliding them around.

Pour an extra 1/4 tsp honey across the tops of the figs so it spreads along the non-cooked sides.

When figs are done, place them on a small plate, sprinkle the cinnamon across the cooked cut sides, and enjoy.

Tastes infinitely better while still hot, just take care not to burn your mouth.

Those look delicious!!!!

Cream cheese mints. Simple, but delicious. Originally learned to make these from a french lady who came to our elementary school and taught basic french language and culture lessons as a free afternoon activity.

Something I've had the pleasure of enjoying recently: Mochi! Our new little asian market has three flavors at present, at a decent price. Wish we could get them fresh! I may have to learn to make these.

It's a rice-paste based pastry with various fillings. I've had red bean mochi, taro mochi, and green tea mochi. All three were tasty. It's a chewy dessert. :)

I made cookies, brownies, and a birthday cake today... Burned all of it. :(
