Doctor Who Siggy

I want to watch the original series. I downloaded them (took FOREVER), but some episodes are missing from the torrent.

Aren't some episodes of that show missing from posterity altogether? It's got to be impossible to catch up on anything when there's big huge gaps in the storyline.

I honestly have no idea. I have never seen an episode of the original series. Nor do I know ANYTHING about it.

I was actually doing some reading on this a couple of months ago... apparently until sometime in the '70s, the BBC would routinely record over shows they didn't think they needed to keep on hand anymore. They had no clue they'd ever have any demand for years-old episodes of something, and they needed to save storage space and re-use the tape, both of which saved money somehow. So a fairly large number of the original episodes from that time period were erased. Some of them got recovered from private collections if people recorded them at home, or from the networks of other nations which also aired the show. Some episodes could be lost forever.

So I'd be willing to bet the ones missing from your torrent, at least some of them, are the ones that are missing from everywhere.
