Need a laugh?

Featured Replies

Having a tough day? Then watch this. Need more of a laugh? Try this: "(Click "CC", turn on Russian automatic captions, click the Translate BETA button, click the language, and choose English from the list)." Hilarity ensues!! (you might have to type 'e' once you click to select the language to get the english, the vid is acting wierd...)

And I'm not sure what it was the captions were capturing...

His voice. It's basically an automatic system that Google has been working on the past few years. What it does is recognize distinctively human sounds from a video's audio, and matches it all up with real words and phrases (Even if there aren't actual words involved, as with this video), in order to create automatic subtitles for a video without any human involvement whatsoever. It's basically Google's way of showing everyone; "Yes, we are trying to perfect voice recognition technology"

Here's the catch, though: It's crap (At least at the moment.) and is going to take several more years to get it accurate. (Though admittedly, it has gotten better since it's debut)

This means that it has been a common joke among the YouTube community to turn on the automatic captions, and laugh at how inaccurate it is. (Personally, I don't find it all that funny anymore. Yeah, I get it, the software is terrible and faulty, it's not that hilarious anymore.)

Wow... You certinately are a downer lately Tyler.

Because I have an opinion on something? (Which I only stated as a personal note to what I consider an informative post to explain what's going on to Mashiara)

It's not even a spur of the moment, opinion-of-the-day thing either; I haven't found YouTube's bad automatic-caption thing funny in ages.

Well Tyler if you've never seen it done before it might be funny.

I've personally never seen it and mean to watch it when I get up tomorrow. I'll kept you all in suspense until then

Please do tell us when you see it blank!

Tyler, it is not WHAT you said, but HOW you said.  It makes a big difference.  Just think about it, ok?  Im not trying to be offensive or anything, that you can have my oath upon my standing as a Ren'Shai.
