This is the tree I planted at my Father's house.  And how it looks from his front porch in Spring.  We just were out in SC, so it was the first thing that came to my mind.

here's a photo I took a few days ago

 

I grew up with a red dogwood outside my bedroom window. Dogwoods were everywhere in the spring and I love them.
