Disney shuts down LucasArts

Featured Replies

I just still wonder what Disney Star Wars is going to become.

I just cant wait to see Leia on the 2014 Disney Princess Calendar/Posters. Should be funny.

Eh, I'm not too bothered by this. I mean, the classic LucasArts games were excellent but what have they done recently?

Can't think of his real name but does that mean Hiro from Heroes no longer has a job? As working for LucasArts was his real job.

I would guess yes unless Disney shuffled him off to do something else. They laid off everyone that worked for the studio.

That's a shame then.

Beyond that I don't really care.

I guess if I break down that thought I do, I don't like the idea of people losing their jobs. Not what I had in mind though.

yeah LucasArts did all of the Starwars games, to include "Old Republic", "Force Unleashed", "Lego Starwars" and they also did "Lego Indiana Jones"

Force Unleashed was a great series, both in concept, design and playability. you would think that Dinsey woudl have kept them open on a contract basis to work on the Starwars and Indiana Jones games since they contract out their gaming titles anyways

Disney Interactive Studios isn't that great of a game developer.  Epic Mickey sucked tbh.

I'll always remember Lucasarts for brilliant adventure games they made, such as Monkey Island, Indiana Jones and Maniac Mansion series. That was long time ago though.

I hope to see Disney sharing their fate one day.

Disney's made a deal with EA and I think at least some of the games are back on track.

This could either be REALLY AWESOME or REALLY BAD.

It's always a toss up with EA.

My favorite was X-Wing vs. Tie Fighter for the PC.  So badass.

Was that the really old one?I had so much fun with it at my cousins house.

Yeah, made in '97 and utterly awesome.  Balance of Power wasn't quite as good.

I remember we would play madden or AoE on the new computer and the odd man out would play star wars.  So many good memories

Well, it's old but not oldest. It's the 3rd game in the series (besides which, Tie-Fighter (the second game) was the BEST game in the series.)
