Empy's Entertainment Dissappointments of 2006

Nip Tuck Season 4 - An elderly woman named James taking organs from people, the Mcnamara's cheat on each... again, Kimber and Matt married....yaaawwn.. the only saving grace was the return of Escobar. I thought this season was a bore and hope the move to Hollywood revitalizes the show.

Superman Returns - Superman has a kid with Lois Lane? WTF! I really did not enjoy this movie and felt the plot could have been a little better. Everyone knows that Lois Lane could not give birth to superman's baby!

The Good Sheppard - Such Oscar hype, such promise.... and I was let down. The movie was slow moving and too long and really did not make me care about the characters.

I will add more when I think of them. Please feel free to add yours.

I agree about Superman Returns. Decent little flick, but not nearly as good as it could have been.

In the same vein, 2006 marked the year I completely gave up on Smallville. Dear god... This show went from guilty pleasure, to crap fest, to completely unwatchable. I'd made it a habit to skip the middle for the last few seasons and only watch the beginning and end. It kept me from breaking my television set in sheer frustration at watching what could have been a great reworking of the Superman mythos into "The Lana Lang Pretty Princess Whinning Hour". But the current season's premiere was just so unwatchable, I changed the channel and haven't been back since.

However, last season did give the opportunity to cackle madly as Lana Lang died a horrible, bloody death. Then she got revived minutes later and the awesome Bo Kent had to die instead, proving that Lana's evil cannot be destroyed and all must sacrificed to the alter of Twue Wuv. Sigh.

I gave up on Smallville after season...errr... 2... Lana drove me crazy and when you said she died I was soooo happy, then you told me she came back to life and I hate the show again.

I was intrigued by Lex and Clark's relationship, but it never went anywhere. It seemed character development stopped and the show became stagnant.... or whatever you spell it.

I still enjoy Smallville, but only because Lex absolutely rocks. And Chloe is kinda cute :D

Superman Returns, yeah that was a quite rubbish movie. But I didn't really have high hopes for that one, I've never liked any of the Superman-movies.

When I left Superman Returns I said, "Bryan Singer left X-men for that?"

I was also surprised Tom Welling and Micheal Rosenbaum didn't have walk on cameos.
