HAPPY MAY, EVERYONE!!! Summer is here! Well, at least it is in South Georgia! :)

What's up for you this month??

I'm finishing up the CRCT (state testing) with my class and starting my Last 20 Days of School unit where each day has its own theme! Peanut's Pre-K graduation is the 31st, too!

Well I just got my Teaching Certificate, qualifying me to teach 6-12th grade English in the state of Oklahoma. So... job applications! It is also the end of the school year (and a much needed break for me from working with adorable but challenging children). I am also probably stepping up as Assistant Cubmaster for our Pack, which means a lot of summer activities planning and some pre-planning for Fall. I also have plans to finish up at least one or two major projects for my SCA office as head of our College of Scribes. I want to get the projects done before our Kingdom business-meeting event in July. And I am attending two SCA events this month and we are doing another gaming session.

Yesterday was 89 degrees. Today was 40 with a wind chill of 22. Oklahoma weather is definitely unfair. (Because 22 is NOT "fair weather" ) Can we please at least have real spring now? I had to go buy a shawl to go with the dress I am wearing to a friend's wedding tomorrow because the dress was bought with typical May Oklahoma weather in mind.

I need to get my garden started as well this month. Other than that no plans unless something pops up.

I have tests for next week and few more days of school and then summer vacation  but with homework  . Here school year starts in April and there is a month and half of school and then summer vacations(with lots of homework) for a month and half and school reopens on July 1. Not as easy as in other countries where summer vacations are actually free

Mother's day is coming and both my kids found out about it from something other than me, and both keep telling me all the things they may do for me or get for me as as ideas come to them and they're so excited about it. All I want on mother's day is for them to WANT to do something for me, not to have them do it cause someone said they have to. Today the four year old told me he could give me hugs and kisses, he could give me my own power ranger toy (his favorite toy of the moment), or (and he got the biggest grin as it came to him) he said he could get daddy to help him make a card for me. So i'm super excited to see what they end up doing.

Also, the weekend after mother's day I have a room booked at a bed and breakfast that my writing group booked up so we can go away for the weekend and write all day long every day with no distraction..........however hubby will be working 12hr shifts overnight all weekend, so i'm scrambling trying to find a sitter so I can go. It may or may not happen.

dont kniw whats up
