It was with a fond smile that Aramina found herself in a small training patch in the Yards, dressed for travel and waiting and she had at a different time for a different Tower Guard. It was the same place she had gone with Alric out to have her Wilderness training and now she waited for Michael as he finished up the last of their preparations. His message had been to come ready for a few days training mission and with enough notice to ensure she could arrange it.

She tried not to smile as she waited for him, but she was failing miserably. She heard his approach and all though of hiding her smile were gone. She looked up at Michael and remembered dancing and talking and friends and moments of pure joy. She didn't know how he was all those things so quickly to her, but he was and she didn't try to fight it.

Intead, she gave him a slight bow of the head. "Aramina Sedai, reporting at your request."

  • 2 weeks later...

Michael nearly bounced as he walked to where he was supposed to meet Aramina, his naturally good mood seeming to multiply tenfold this day. It was a simple excursion, Michael didn't really know why he had asked for Aramina to come with him. He had masked the reason as some type of Wilderness training, even if she had already done that with Alric back when she was still training in the Yards.

She beat them to their meeting point as he had delayed when getting ready, wanting to be look as fresh and ready for their trip as he felt. The preperation were made, the horses were already picked and saddled, all that remained for them was to escape from the city.

Michael's reasoning for this was to get Aramina away from the tower, she of all people in a bad need for a vacation. But that didn't hide how much he also looked foreward to this, how much he wanted to see the smile that he had been able to bring out when she had taken her dancing.

"Aramina Sedai, reporting at your request." She was smiling, that was all it took. He leaned foreward as he got close enough, giving a small peck of his lips to her cheek to contrast the formal bow of her head.

"Yes I do see milady, but hopefully for the next few days there will be no Sedai." He gave a small wink as he turned and offered out his arm. "You're carriage awaits milady, let us get you out of this confining city. There might not be much dancing this time but perhaps we will do that much amount of work."

Aramina shivered as Michael's lips brushed her cheek softly. She smiled at him, taking his arm as he led her away from the Yards and to their horses that were picketed not far away.

Though she tried not to be, she was glad she had chosen the dark green dress she wore today. Suitable for riding, but something she would normally have worn on the last leg of a trip to visit someone important. It was lower cut that most of her dresses with soft ivory colored lovers knots and such detailed across the hems and bust. Not that she was trying to impress Michael, but.. she couldn't even finish that lie in her head. She was. She wanted him to notice and part of her realized that she would have been rather upset if he hadn't found some way to make physical contact in their first few minutes.

She hadn't felt like that before, the anticipation of seeing him, of having him near, it was almost intoxicating and Aramina was letting herself fall into the sensation without pause. As they mounted their beasts she noticed Michael watching her and hoped it was more than just making sure an Aes Sedai could mount a horse without breaking her neck.

As they rode, the city started to fade away. Each step of the horse, each clippity-clop of hooves on pavement seemed to rattle her. When they were out of the city and the noise and bluster began to fade away, she took a deep breath, letting the same clippity-clop on soft ground sooth her. When she felt relaxed, she looked over at Michael and smiled. "Are you going to explain to me what it is we're doing now?" She asked. "Or is that still a surprise?"

  • 2 weeks later...

"A surprise? Hmmm…" Michael smiled wickedly, mimicking the act of debating whether or not to tell Aramina what they were up to on this trip. He had not planned much; this entire thing has been a near spontaneous idea that he had had when talking to her. All he had planned were supplies for the at least few days they would be out in the woods and getting permission behind the veil of a training session.

"Sadly enough this was not a grand adventure, just an elaborate scheme of mine to keep you away from those forsaken books and whatever you do to get that serious look you always carry around." Michael had turned and was mimicking that face in an exaggerated way, trying for that smile that seemed to come more often, that smile that Michael loved more than anything else to see. He couldn't hold the face for long, breaking into a smile of his own and laughter at his own rather ridiculous behavior.

It had steadily become more difficult to tear his eyes away from Aramina when he turned his gaze towards her. The Tower Guard in him told him it was simply making sure his Aes Sedai charge was well, to make sure that she remained safe while in his guard. But the person inside of him knew that it was different. He could not help but admire her beauty, his eyes took in her form clad in a dress that accented everything about her. He had to give himself a small shake and turn back to the land in front of him.

"So for now this is simply thumbing our noses at our responsibilities, and taking a well deserved in my opinion. And if the company is of a higher quality than what we might find back in the city, all the better I say."

Aramina was more than a little surprised that Michael had gone through all this to get her away from the Tower. Part of her wanted to remind him that she had important business there but that part remained silent when he turned his eyes to her. The impression of her stern demeanor brought a smile to her and he laughed as well. There were times when laughing at yourself was good. And today with Michael she was laughing.

As they rode on Aramina felt something in the silence between them, something she couldn't put a word to but that settled in and made itself at home within her. She was no good with people, she knew, her own need to keep people at a distance, to observe and watch kept her from being too close to people but Michael didn't let her observe things. He forced her into action and even as they continued riding she found herself grateful for it.

"So for now this is simply thumbing our noses at our responsibilities, and taking a well deserved in my opinion. And if the company is of a higher quality than what we might find back in the city, all the better I say."

She smiled at him then, warm and brilliant. "Some people would say that the company I left behind was the highest you could find, but I think they haven't had the chance to meet an honest guard such as yourself. Or perhaps I should say dishonest. You did lure me away from the Tower with the promise of training after all." She said with a small laugh. "I think next time I will have to ask exactly what sort of training you mean."

Retro Aramina... the young.

Michael's mind was already turning with a list of ways he could take Aramina's comment and turn it back to see if he could get a smile and perhaps a laugh that was no as small from the joke. And the other part of him was beaming proudly from the compliment that she had given him, his chest swelling with pride for the few words.

Michael grinned turned wicked as he turned back to Aramina. "So not worry milady, my intentions were perfectly pure in stealing you away from the tower. I only brought one sword and there will be no training with it I am sure." Michael winked, it was clear he had no metal sword on his person..it was just up to Aramina to connect the meanings.

Michael turned his mount off towards a relitively large batch of trees that he had been to before when trying to find places for them to stay. It was secluded, out of the way and Michael was sure no one would find them there while they were gone. He laughed to himself, it sure didn't look pure now that he had time to examine the situation. "Camp site is this way, follow me milady you're green manor awaits!"

"I only brought one sword and there will be no training with it I am sure."

It took a minute for Aramina to understand Michael's meaning, though she was certainly not slow witted. In fact in her early days in Tar Valon, her mind would have caught the innuendo and would have made a quick retort before she could stop herself. Now, after years of living in the White Tower and having become a Sister, she was not at all prepared for such a thing. When her mind caught up with the words, she was at a loss. Her mind struggled to come up with the retort, but it lost out when her heart skipped a beat. No practice? Why not, she thought as she looked down for a moment. No, her form was well enough displayed, she was sure of that. Perhaps he had no taste for Aes Sedai.

The thought depressed her for a moment, but when he looked back at her, she smiled. No, there was nothing of dislike in his eyes. She might not have much experience with men in recent years, but she knew a few things. Perhaps he was just.... she shook her head. What was she thinking? She was a Sister. She didn't have time to lose her head over a Tower Guard. But still.. when he stopped to look back at her she couldn't help but smile.

"Camp site is this way, follow me milady you're green manor awaits!"

"My Green Manor?" She asked as she laughed lightly. She brought her mount over to his and reached a hand out to touch his shoulder lightly. "This I can't wait to see. I will follow you my Guard," She said, then trailed her hand down his arm. "If you brought only one sword and need no practice with it, I should be safe enough in your hands."

Aramina Sur Dulciena, a very young Green

"Do not need?"

It was too much, sometimes his sense of humor traveled to the more dirtier versions of that sense. And Aramina was giving him more ammunition to put towards that and he couldn't resist. And with the shiver running through his frame at her light touch, it made his mind sink to lower levels. "No need, ah milady with that sword there can never be no need, especially with your beautiful self around. It was just becaue I would not want to assume against your purity." Mcihael flashed a wicked grin, giving a wink to show he was teasing.

And nor would his words be a lie, and not only because of her beauty and the way her dress clung and hinted at things beneath, it was more than that. There was something that he could not place that made him want to spend time with Aramina, to know that she liked him as well....

Chuckling to himself Michael spurred his horse foeward, weaving the stallion through the trees. Slowing him to a walk he lead by memory towards the grove he knew was inside the stand of trees. The sound of a river guiding him, it was close. The whole scene he had picked was romantic, though that came as an after thought, he had picked without actually thinking about it.

He dismounted when he arrived at the open patch of land, surrounded by the tall trees with a stream meandering along the side. It was secluded and away from the rest of the world, just as he wanted it to be. He circled around and gave a grand flourish. "Welcome to your home away from home milady, I hope it is to your liking." Michael smiled, waiting for Aramina's reaction.

"No need, ah milady with that sword there can never be no need, especially with your beautiful self around. It was just becaue I would not want to assume against your purity."

And it was to her utmost embarassment that she could feel her cheeks heating up as he spoke. Thankfully he looked away before he noticed it, or at least she hoped it was before he noticed it. Though with Michael, he could have seen her coloring and turned away so as not to make her any more uncomfortable. As they walked on she felt her coloring returning to normal. She wandered behind him for a time, wondering where he was taking her on this semi-impromptu retreat, until they stepped into a beautiful clearning and he stopped.

"Welcome to your home away from home milady, I hope it is to your liking."

Aramina took a few minutes to take it all in. No matter how long she lived in the city, a part of her would always remember growing up on the countryside and the open spaces there. The secluded clearning was everything she might have hoped for and a few things more. She couldn't put her finger on the right word, but there was something soft and wonderous about this place, it made her feel like the stress was draining out of her and the girl of her youth was returning. It made her feel like there was something here of caring and warmth, something nurturing and spirited. She turned to look at Michael with a smile as large as she had ever worn.

"I think you managed to find the perfect place." She said as she stared at him. Stared. With a huge smile on her face. For a moment she wasn't able to look away, and when she did it was with another flush of color to her cheeks. Light, what he must think? She was an Aes Sedai! She didn't blush!

Aramina sur Dulciena

PSW.gif

He was blissfully happy at the moment, Michael had hoped to no end that Aramina would like the place he had picked and now she had said it was perfect with a smile that was itself simply perfect. Aramina’s smile was brighter than he had ever seen followed by a light blush to her cheeks that made her look even more beautiful.

Michael wasn’t prepared for what that would bring, her smile, her blush, the happiness that he felt. He had a strong urge to walk over, take her in his arms and lose himself as he kissed her. He blinked, surprised at himself for his forward thoughts. She was an Aes Sedai and he a Tower Guard after all! How fast of friends they were becoming didn’t mean he wouldn’t get slapped for trying that. Aramina had trouble with physical contact, and the light plutonic kiss to her cheek was as much as he would push the envelope for that. But the feeling inside of him would not be denied, couldn’t’ be crushed.

The attraction he could feel the green clad Aes Sedai in front of him had been growing ever since he had first met her, first been able to crack her armor and see what she was like beneath but Michael had hoped that it would pass. How would it look? How would she react?

But perhaps…she seemed unable to take her eyes from him as he was to her….but no, it was probably her thinking he was some type of idiot for staring. “Well then..to make this place truly perfect perhaps I should get some food for the two of us.” Michael smiled just as brightly and began to move towards Aramina, to the horses where he had brought some food and the tools he would need to catch some fish in the river. The feeling surged as he moved closer and he could easier have stopped the sun from rising and setting than what he did next. Michael felt as if he was moving through water as he stopped in front of Aramina, the half step forward as his head moved in. The surprise of what he was doing as one hand alighted on her arm suppressed as his lips met Aramina’s.

She wasn't sure how to react as he walked towards her. She knew he was getting into their packs, but her eyes couldn't seem to do anything other than look at him and her hands just seemed useless. She could have moved to help him. She could have stepped aside to let him get to the packs easier. She could have done a million different things but she simply stood there.

When his steps took him too close to her, she could have tried to back away. She could have looked away from him, or down, or when he leaned in towards her she could have put her hand up to stop him. A small touch, she was sure, would have curtailed any such movements from him.

But she didn't do any of those things. When he stepped closer she just stayed her ground. When he leaned in and his hand touched her arm, she looked up at him, her eyes wide and uncertain. And when his lips met hers, She did nothing. She didn't breath, she didn't think, she didn't move. She couldn't. Her brain wanted to move, wanted to push away and get safely away from Michael, but her heart wanted to such thing.

In the end, he began to pull away and she saw the confused look on his face, confusion and concern that he had done something unwanted and unbidden. Before she could stop herself or think better of it, her arms went up around his neck and she pulled him towards her for another kiss.

Aramina sur Dulciena

  • 3 weeks later...

This was turning into a disaster rather quickly, and Michael was beginning to think that he had made the wrong decision in not controlling his impulses. His heart had taken over his mind and he has kissed Aramaina without thinking about his actions. He had been sure she would be receptive, sure that he had guessed that Aramina had wanted this as much as him.

But now he was being wracked with concern that he had done the wrong thing and ruined not only the weekend they had together but maybe even their friendship after this small trip was over.

And then something happened that he wouldn’t have happened ever, not from Aramina at least and not from how she had reacted at first. Before he knew what was happening Aramina’s arms were moving around his neck, and pulling him foreword for another kiss.

Michael smiled as he kissed Aramina, his arms sliding around her back to hold her close to him. Moments that seemed like an eternity passed as he held Aramina’s in his arms before they finally parted. “Well I see that at least one of my lessons went through. You’re now thinking with your heart instead of your head.” Michael smiled brightly as he looked into Aramina’s eyes before once again bending his neck and kissing Aramina.

Aramina had never expected to find herself in this sort of position. She doubted anyone that knew her would expect to find her in an out of the way haven, her arms wrapped tightly around a Tower Guard as he kissed her. Even in her wildest imaginings with Natalie when they had both still worn the white, she would never have thought of herself in that way. No, Aramina had seen a life of duty and battle, of Green Sisters and bonded Warders who worked as sword and shield. No matter that she and Natalie had joked about marrying their Warders and how many they would bond, Aramina has always known her heart held no place for such. If that was true though, why was she here? How had this man come to get underneath her skin and into her heart when she had walled it up against any such incursions?

He wasn’t the first to try to get to her and he wouldn’t be the last. She had a beautiful face with a womanly figure and Aramina was never one to pass up a tool when she had it in her grasp. Her appearance was as much a weapon to her as the One Power was. So how had Michael gotten through all of that? She had no answer and as his lips parted from hers, she had no care either.

“It does seem I have learned a little.” She said, her voice too soft as she spoke, still breathless. “Though I am might be a hard study. I might need more lessons later.” She hardly believed the words came from her mouth, but her heart pounded in her chest and the light laugh that broke through was undeniably her.

Aramina sur Dulciena

Michael gazed into the eyes of the woman he now held in his arms, Aramina, he had finally broken through completely. And in his process of trying to crack the shell that Aramina had built up around her, she had managed to crawl under his skin as well...the smile she always brought to his face and the quick laughter to his heart.

"A hard stufy? Well I've never backed down from teaching someone before..." Mcihael laughed lightly along with Aramina as he swept her up in his arms, spinning her lightly as he kissed her swiftly. The joy he felt like no other, lifting himself to another plane of existance almost. One with only him and Aramina.

Setting her back down Michael didn't care what this would look like to anyone farther than what Aramina would think if this was made public. Would this relationship last the private confines of their little forest? "Though if you don't learn fast I don't think we'll ever get much done on this trip, I was actually planning on making dinner." With another chuckle Michael didn't care as Aramina's lips beckoned his once more, losing himself in a long and passion filled kiss. Moments changed to lifetimes, a single breath all the life force a man would ever have.

She was whirled off of her feet and Aramina felt for a moment like she was flying. When her feet touched the ground again she knew that if it hadn't been Michael she would have been angry. Instead she wrapped her arms around his neck and let herself fall into another passionate kiss.

His words penetrated her mind though and as much as she enjoyed kissing him she knew that she couldn't stay wrapped up in him like this all the time. When they parted she smiled up at him. "I suppose that will have to be enough for our lessons now." She said with a grin. "Though perhaps later you can take up your teaching once again." She said, though she felt her cheeks heating at her words.

Aramina

  • 2 weeks later...

It seemed that Michael was bringing the true Aramina out of her confines bit by bit and was enjoying every minute of it. The light blush staining her cheeks made her more appealing, and it wasn't easy to tear away from her ageless face. But he did, he had too eventually, and made his way to his horse to take the food he had brought out.

It only took Michael a few minutes before he had a small fire in the small clearing that he and Aramina had taken for themselves. It took only a few more moments for the salted meat he had brought to be cooking as well, Michael breathed in the fumes with a smile..he always loved that smell. "Here it's almost done." Michael beckoned for Aramina to sit next to him, laying out a blanket and fetching the silverware he had brought for the two of them, even a small bottle of wine that he had been able to smuggle with him.

Mcihael spread the meat to the two of them, and poured them both a glass of wine, as cheap at it may be but Michael couldn't afford the type Aramina may have been used too. The meal wasn't glamorous but it was the best he had been able to create with the money he had available. "It may not be much but it is dinner, and away from all the worries in that city." Michael raised his glass and Aramina's followed with a small clink. "To new beginnings, and a lesson in doing what your heart wants."

Aramina sur Dulciena was used to the finer things in life since she had come to the Tower. Even her years as a Novice and Accepted she had seen more of luxury than she had ever dreamed of back in her small village with hopes of a grander life in Cairhein. Nothing she had gained as an Aes Sedai, no priveledge or posession could equal the sweetness of the day. In her life she had known only hardness and those that had wanted her to be harder, stronger, smarter, better at.... everything. Michael was something entirely different and she cherished the time she had already spent with him. The future was ever clouded with duty and obligation but Michael gave her the ability to see through that. He was, she thought as she sat next to him, sipping on wine, the sort of man that could let a woman shine and not feel outshone. He could love an Aes Sedai and never expect her to be less to make himself more. She was grateful that her face didn't flush at the thought, but she took a drink of her wine to hide her face anyway.

When she looked up, he was toasting and she raised her glass to his. "To what your heart wants." She said softly. "And teachers with great reserves of patience. Thank you."

Aramina sur Dulciena

Michael had beleive it difficult to take his eyes off of Aramina before, but now, after he had recognized what he felt for the wonderful Aes Sedai, it was almost impossible. He stole glances above his wine glass, his food, every moment that he could. It was all he could do to just take her in his arms and kiss her for the rest of the night, but it wouldn't be proper and he would resist the excesses that would devalue, in his mind, what they had together.

"So what do you think Aramina, is in the future for us? I mean, I do have to finish your training after all." Michael smiled as he took a small sip of the wine, finishing it off and setting it aside. He was curious for this answer though, for he honestly did not know. It was rare that Aes Sedai carried on relationships with people other than Warders for all that long, and even rarer for it to be a Tower Gaurd.

"So what do you think Aramina, is in the future for us? I mean, I do have to finish your training after all."

Her glass stopped half way to her lips as she heard the words. She set her glass down quickly because her hands had already started shaking and it was no good to let him see that he had that sort of effect on her already. Light, she didn't know what she was going to do about this. She knew that she would always have her comittment to the Tower and to Sirayn Sedai, but did that necessarily mean she couldn't have Michael as well? She knew that few Aes Sedai ever managed to keep relationships for too long. The nature of their lives denied such things, but in Michael she thought she had found someone who could see the woman behind the perfect Aes Sedai mask. Even more than that, he helped her to see that there was a woman behind the perfect Aes Sedai mask.

A future? Is that what she wanted? She knew that she would have the disapproval of some of her sisters if she persued this, but when she looked at Michael, she didn't care. If she had his support it would be enough. She could be a great Sister and still be a woman besides.

She gave Michael a small smile. "The future? Would that I can tell, but I think I see many more lessons before us." She said, her smile growing a little wider then. "But I would like to think that the future shows you at my side for a while yet." Her face was flushed slightly, but she didn't care. "What would you see my Guard?"

Aramina sur Dulciena (Retro)

The smallest of reassurances were enough to assuage even the largest of fears, especially those that were so irrational as the one's that were running through Michael's head. the worries that this, what he and Aramina had, was going to end as soon as they left the grove he had found for their get away. But he wasn't worried any longer...he would stay with Aramina for a long time yet.

"I think...that your foresight is one I could live with," Michael pulled a face, feigning disgust at the idea for a few moments before he broked into light laughter and a bright smile. "I think that I will not leave your side by will for as long as you will have me milday. I am yours." The smile faded to one of affection and caring instead of amusement. A small voice told him to stop and think instead of just act like he was used to. A voice that shouted, what are you doing? But it was small, and Aramina's eyes drowned it with everything that they made him feel.

The words were more than she would ever have asked, more than she would have dared hope. She felt light-headed and didn't know how to respond to his words. She'd never been good with this sort of thing. Only Natalie had been able to breech her walls before and she didn't know how to handle it anymore now than she had then. She had no idea how she'd managed to get through all this so far, and no idea how she'd handle it in the future, but so far the truth had served her well without any evasions or avoidances. Perhaps it would see her through the rest.

"I..." She felt her face color again. "And I am yours." She realized what she'd just said and how it might sound. "What the Tower does not claim." She ammended, hoping she sounded less of a love sick novice than the Aes Sedai she was.

Michael tilted his head to one side as he watched Aramina so obviously outside the norms of her comfort zone. But he had extrated from her a string of words that he had never hoped to hear from her, though they were in a style that was distinctly Aramina. What the Tower did not claim...

"Then that part of you..is more than I have ever expected to get, and is more precious to me than anything else I could have." Michael reached out and gave Aramina's hand a light squeeze, twining their fingers together as he leaned in and lightly pressed his lips to hers. Michael glanced down to his hand for a brief moment, still intertwined with Aramina's. It was such a small thing for most people, but it was a very large thing for the two of them. Aramina, who had recoiled to the touch at first. It made Michael feel..special, was the only way to describe it.

"Thank you Aramina..for this." Michael lifted her hand to his lips for a brief moment. "I know how hard it is for you, I only wish I knew a way to repay you for such a gift."

"Thank you Aramina..for this. I know how hard it is for you, I only wish I knew a way to repay you for such a gift."

Tears sprang to Aramina's eyes as his lips touched her hand in such a gesture but she banished them quickly, not allowing her past sorrow to intrude on this moment. She shook her head at his words though. "You understand that this is hard for me and that you recognize it means more than you can know. What you thank me for... it is what you have done, not I. You found a way to unlock me from myself. I don't know how or why you felt the need to try, but it is I who should thank you."

She looked at their hands and back into his eyes. "I wish there was something more that I could give you in repayment. My time here seems a poor price to pay for what you have done for me."

Light she sounded the fool, but she didn't know what else to do. Honesty was all she had right now. Her normal facade had cracked away and with Michael there seemed to be no way to put it back. She would have to learn, in front of others, to keep her facade in place. She was an Aes Sedai and would not be seen as less, but she was certain she could. She had worn it for years and as long as she could have Michael at her side, she would be able to keep it up in public.

Michael looked down to Aramina's hand as he rubbed a thumb over her soft skin. Her time a poor gift? It was the most amazing gift that she could give to him. "You have no need to try for repayment, having you near is the best gift I could ever possible see milady." His eyes traveled up to her and lit brightly as he saw such affection in Aramina's face. His lips were being drawn to her's once again until there was a large crash from the brush behind them.

Michael was rising to his feet and a knife was in his hand in a flash until he saw it was just a small child, on the verge of tears and clutching his hands together nervously. "I can't find them! Where's my family!!" Michael sighed ruefully, it seemed his and Aramina's romantic get away was going to come to an end. Turning he reached a hand out to help Aramina to her feet and then let her hand drop. "It looks like our trip may be over milady." Michael smiled a small smile and let out another long sigh.

In retrospect, Aramina decided the child's interference was probably well timed, though not well received. Michael had managed to get blade in hand faster than she would have thought possible and she herself had been so startled that she had already started weaving before realizing there was no attack on them.

Aramina wasn't good with children. Her cold demeanor and inexperience did little to settle the nerves of an already frightened child. Instead it was left to Michael to take care of the child, though out of respect for his need to protect, Aramina tried to keep the boy in hand as much as possible.

"You think the parents are close by?" Aramina asked, though she found it hard to believe. As loud as the child was his parents would surely have found him by now. Still, she hoped perhaps Michael would be able to track them or something.
