Once a year, the moon is a bit closer to earth so it looks quite a bit larger and it is very, very bright. We were standing outside waiting for it to come up and as soon as I started seeing light, I started snapping pictures with my phone. A few clouds roll in, but they were thin and wispy. Why is this so interesting (other than the fact that I love astronomy)?

 

Because right before the disk peaked over the mountain, the light hit those clouds and it looked like this orange/red dragon hovering over the treetops. I thought, "The Dragon has been reborn!"     I'm such a geek. lol Anyway, I took a picture of it and I'll post it as soon as I get it pulled off my phone. You can kind of see it.

I look forward to seeing it!

I love supermoon

we saw this, it was really cool, made our garden look really spooky!

It was like a foot above the water. I live right by a lake and watched it reflect on itself. Plus it had this red/peach color.

We had a really big red moon the other day but i couldnt get a pic

Well, I got around to at least looking at the pictures that I took and you can't see the dragon cloud, but there are some cool pictures of the moon so I'll put them up here in a little bit.
